do you guys iron them?
HOWW???
it’s so difficult to manage such a huge sheet single handedly …
or is there any way to wash it in a manner that it’s not so wrinkled up?

Re: bedsheets and blanket-covers
I do iron the bed sheets and comforter covers everytime I wash them.. I usually just spread it on the living room carpet floor, turn on the TV, and iron from one end to the other (low heat since I dun want to burn the carpet underneath it) It takes about 10 mins for each of them. :-)
Re: bedsheets and blanket-covers
well i dont have so much space to spread out the sheet anywhere ... besides ... wouldnt the sheet get a wee bit dirty again if you spread it on the floor where you're all the time walking, doing things, spilling things??
though i have wooden flooring, but unless i clean the floor everyday, it's a horrible mess by weekend with those horrible horrible dust-bunnies (i hate them :().
Re: bedsheets and blanket-covers
umm no we don't walk in the house with the shoes on and I do vaccuum the floor if I am going to spread the sheet there.. you can double fold it and then iron the fold crease out at the end.. well it works for me so I do it very often. :)
Re: bedsheets and blanket-covers
i’ve never ironed bedsheets or blankets. didn’t think people did that. i guess i was wrong! ![]()
they’re gonna get wrinkled anyway when you sleep on them ![]()
btw, if you take them straight out of the dryer and fold them up, they won’t be wrinkled. you need to like hmm (what’s it called when you fling it?)..so that it straightens out sheets..and you’re good to go!
Re: bedsheets and blanket-covers
Me neither, have never ironed bed linens or duvet covers..... but yeah, I take them out of the dryer straightaway and fold them up.
Re: bedsheets and blanket-covers
it's such a nice feeing to sleep in nice, clean, ironed covers and sheets :@:
but i think it's the machine-drying-the-sheets part that makes them more wrinkly ... no? wet sheets would be easier to keep wrinkle free i think ... only if i had enough space to air-dry them
Re: bedsheets and blanket-covers
^me too me too :p
I meant i agree with MIA :)
Nah, my mom used to air-dry them in Pakistan and they were still wrinkly, so its not the dryer that is to be blamed.

Re: bedsheets and blanket-covers
then i guess i just keep doing my awkward ironing … ![]()
Re: bedsheets and blanket-covers
I wash them and hang them to dry. I don't put them in the tumble dryer anymore cuz that's causes major wrinkles.
When they're dry I just fold them up and don't need to iron anymore
Re: bedsheets and blanket-covers
I try to fold them straight out of the dryer so they don't have a chance to get wrinkly.
Re: bedsheets and blanket-covers
Just add a fabric softener sheet in the dryer, you wouldn't get any wrinkles then. Fold when warm.
Re: bedsheets and blanket-covers
fabric softener sheet helps plus if the dryer is not too packed you will not have wrinkles.
so do a couple of sheets at a time, no more..take them out of the dryer promptly as in the second it stops and lay it out flat right away.
lastly, better sheets will get wrinkled less, so think of better fibre quality, yarn length, finishing, threadcount etc
now they also have treated sheets that are wrinkle resistant and/or wrinkle free which may lessen your headache

YOU IRON SHEETS?

i do add a fabric softener ... the liquid one ... i dont know about the sheets one ... plus we're only two people ... dont have too much to wash after a week anyways ... and normally it's just one sheet and one cover to wash .. so if the bedsheet is white as well, then i'll put them both together in a separate wash, else the cover goes with the white wash (which is really not a lot)
@x2 .. i have to buy a new cover and sheet ... i'll keep this in mind to try and find a wrinkle-free thing ...

they come out pretty darn wrinkled (i do tumble dry since as of now i just have one blanket cover, so it needs to be washed, dried and ironed all in one day before bedtime)
YOU IRON SHEETS?

Re: bedsheets and blanket-covers
^ Dontbe. I should be intimidated. :hinna:

Would not it be easy to iron them after you spread them on the bed.
Re: bedsheets and blanket-covers
good idea but there is no TV in the bedroom so I will be bored if I had to iron for such a long time without being entertained!
so am I te only one who is ironing them all? oh well, I used to iron jeans too so what can I say :(
Re: bedsheets and blanket-covers
**** ... i've got to be kidding myself ... i iron EVERYTHING ... EVRYTHING ... i dont even want to name the things to embarrass me further ... i think i should quit on a few things walks out quietly
