arritey… well moving in a months time and i have to get a bed before i go… and im trying to decide on what kind of bed i should get
so my bedroom is gonna have creamy/nearly white walls.. one of which is going to be of toffee colour.. the carpet is almost creamy/nearly white as well..
i really want to get one of those low low beds.. u know the ones that have hardly any legs.. but my mum wont allow it (afterall im going to be kicked out and the room will be turned into a guest room)
so im thinking something thats not too low, but almost there ive seen this really cool one, it comes in a chocolate (almost black) timber.. it has chrome coloured legs.. but im debating whether i should go that dark or not.. should i go for something more timberish.. like the traditional kind? its confusing…
im gonna throw some dark red sheets on it.. hmm or maybe some matching my walls
any ideas? come on interior decorators.. help me out
Futons are really nice, we have one at home. Try convincing your mum. :) But since your bedroom scheme is light, why dont you go for something softer like dark mahogany, its so classic.
i like the dark darkbrown u described. the contrast would be interesting. buti think u shud make sure ur furniture matches. what color curtians and other things are u going to have?
Is there going to a lot/little of/any natural light in this room?
I like the contrast idea. If you are going to have light coloured walls and carpet, then the dark wood sounds nice to me. I was also going to suggest putting some dark red sheets (with maybe some big white/off-white or actually any other colour that would go well with the bed sheets [matching the walls and carpet] fluffy pillows) on the bed (but I think the pillows will only work if you get a traditional style bed) but you seem to have similar ideas to this already. :p
LK, we have off-white coloured carpets in our house also with white-ish painted walls. It's possible to keep it clean as long as nobody wears shoes in the house.
Sadzz what u put down sounds wonderful. If the carpet and walls r so light u should go with esspresso coloured wood like Sahar said, without the red/burgundy tones. Most deep colors for curtains/bed throws will look good. Do put up pictures once it's done.
Hate to be the first guy in this thread but I would suggest you order a catalogue from IKEA. They have cheap & trendy bedroom sets that give you ok value for your money.

IKEA has nice stuff, but I find the material they use to make their products to be too flimsy for my taste.
