Question from my friends in Pakistan…

I am looking for bed sets or Quilt cover sets .. Sets that have a duvet cover, pillowcases, a runner, cushion cover and a boudoir cover .. something similar to the picture below:

How much would it cost me to get one? Do we get this style in Pakistan or is it very different there?

price depends on the quality you're looking for

Ive seen some fancy 'bridal' for 50k. Others are around 10-20k.

You can usually buy the different-sized pillowcases separately. Add or subtract as you like.

yep chen one.. you can even find matching rugs, curtains etc for the bedroom!

But I prefer buying them here with sales/coupons etc.. you find a good quality as well as you don't have to pay extra to bring them over!!!

CB, all the high end shops in US/UK import bedsheets, bed sets from Pakistan. So never buy any bed set from foreign country - Nishat Linen, Chenab Group (Chen one) ... Al-Karam all have their factory outlets in their home city (Faisalabad) and major cities.

As far the cost concerns, a good bed set will cost you over 1000$ here, well i bought one last month .. and the same thing was just less then 500$ in Pak. So i just return it back last week.

Never bought any textiles from USA, if you have means to get it from Pakistan.

I don't know about Pak but a big bedding set with duvet covers is quite difficult to find in the USA. Try Carsons and Macys.

I get my bedding sets from Chen One or Bareeze. They're beautiful and well-made.

Bareeze home expressions has some nice stuff and so does Nishat Linen stores (although not sure if you will get the exact stuff there).Chen one might also carry what you are looking for.
I know for sure that there are stores which sell the non-name branded stuff....in Liberty,and in Ichraa bazar....I am not sure where though.
Maybe you can ask some locals and I also know that they can make some customized stuff too.

The price range of something like the picture is about 22,000-25,000 rs from Chen One. But if you get the same thing from non-branded Linen shops in Rawalpindi/ Lahore, it'll cost you around 13 to 15,000 rs.

I use Dorma,
excellent quality and very classy looking. Some websites always have good offers etc. I don't like the prints they do in Pak sometimes.

Hadeel you almost gave me a shocker there .. how can it be for 25000 or even 15000 rupees … this set in the picture is for 40 pounds in the UK , which is nearly 5000 rupees … The difference cant be that high between Pakistan and the UK .. isnt pakistan supposed to be cheaper cost wise? :hmmm:

Well Chen one is expensive…my friend bought a similar one for herself almost a month back and i was with her!!

For 5000 rupees i don’t know if you can get something like this, but if you do the colors will fade and it wont be very neatly stitched. And u’ll have to do with cheap colors, lime green or yellow!

CB the prices are listed individually in the website you provided .. so it will be alot more if we added for everything i.e. for spread, bed runner, duvet cover, pillow cases, cushion cases etc, also need a sheet underneath the spread. Just the spread of the pic you posted is £35 from £60 in sale, add everything and see how high the costs go!

pakistan is not so cheap anymore unfortunately.. but i think my aunt went to ichra last time i was in pak 3 years ago and got some nice spreads with pillow cases for decent prices.

Maheen , you know the picture wala bedding set , has the quilt cover, runner, filled boudoir, filled cushion and two pillow cases in it .. I wanted to buy two different designs but someone told me that you get much nicer and less expensive ones in pakistan :naraz: .. and mai khreeda nai:crying: ..

So now i am genuinely getting shocked to hear that a similar bedding set would cost around £170 from Pakistan :hinna:

No , you can get them in fair prices. Last night i went out shopping and coincidently stepped into a linen store, i asked for the price of a real nice bed spread ( with pillow cases and quilt cover ) and it was for 9000 rupees. With a little bargaining he might have sold it for 7500-8000 rupees. The colors were nice and the material was also really fine. But then again it was not from a branded store.

Yup, CB, I saw some really nice stuff in Bareeze and Chen One a few years back but it was just as expensive as buying them from the UK.

Although, what you have in the picture just has some machine embroidery by the look of it and most of the stuff I saw, had threadwork, sequins, cut dana etc etc. Ok for a throw but not an everyday duvet cover.

I’ve always found nice stuff in TK Maxx - Cotton duvet covers with silk/satin borders and embroidery on them.

Cotton bedding is a lot cheaper in pak. My dad’s relative is a sales rep for one of the factories in Pakistan and he comes to the UK/EU a couple of times a year as they sell to all the big dept. stores and supply for some well known brands. I’ve seen with my own eyes that stuff he says you can get in the factory outlet for a few hundred rupees, being sold in John Lewis for £80+
BUT, he also said the markets are hugely different and the stuff they supply for sale within Pakistan is not the same as what they export.
