The GupShup experience has changed quite a bit for me ever since I’ve become a Mod. Some are good changes, and some, not so good.
Before Becoming a Mod:
It was alright and perhaps even necessary to open threads with eye-catching titles such as “I am dying. Please help”, and then typing “Can somebody help me find my chapstick” in the first post.
I was the one making fun of what geeks Mods are because all they do is “sit on GS all day”. I even used to make fun of Shikra (well, I still do), saying that he was probably just some experimental robotic program in real life.
I recieved a grand total of 1 PM a week.
I could openly tell someone off without the whole issue being taken to ehsan mamoe and me having to re-explain how everything that I said was justified by GS rules.
I had really good grades.
I got the juicy ‘GS Insiders Drama’ from either Flashchat or the Feedback forum. Even then, I was far behind with the latest news.
After Becoming a Mod:
I still have the right to open funny threads in the Cafe, but to a certain extent (since, apparently, I serve as a model for you people. )
I get teased. A lot. But nowhere near as much as they tease Shikra
I get PMs a lot so I have to empty out my inbox all the time.
A few people have even ‘turned their backs’ on me ever since I’ve become a Mod, and in the beginning I was surprised, but I guess that seperates the goats from the sheep, yh?
My GPA has dropped down .2 or .3. (I still get good grades, and perhaps the drop was not because of GS, but because I’ve gotten very lazy over the past few months. I don’t know why :S )
I can read all the deleted posts/threads and find out who’s in a fight with whom and why. (Not that anyone would even really care, but it’s amusing to read when you’re bored)
I can ban people in chat right there on the spot. buwahahah ultimate power! . Eh, okay not really.
I got to know which members are Mods (because there were some that I never even knew were Mods). I also got to know Jonybr better after I became a Mod, and I now consider him my mentor.
Anyways, so those are just a few of the many changes I’ve noted ever since I’ve become a mod. I’m still the same person, I assure you. I look forward to locking your threads.
