Beauty

Is it mostly related to a person’s weight? Say if a person is attractive facially etc., but is overweight, does that person all of a sudden now become unattractive? Opinions and comments please.

No way. It all goes together. Trust me, when I was in Mexico, one of the girls we travelled with was a little heavier but had a nice face and matching personality. Guys were falling all over themselves for her; both white guys and Mexican men.

I really don't think weight is as much of an issue for men as women make it out to be....some guys prefer women who have a little more meat!

Mehnaz, I agree but you know, you'd be surprised to find the opposite also. There are men out there that think only skinny chicks are pretty and that anyone overweight is ugly and unattractive. I find that sad because they don't take the woman's personality or character into consideration at all. It's all about visuals and physicality to them.

Personally speaking, I prefer skinny girls over chubby ones. I am not saying that chunky ones are ugly. I am not that big on the looks of a girl. To me, figure is more valuable. But some meat at the appropriate places is always an added bonus.

I know. If any guy tries to give any woman grief over her weight or appearance, tell him take a good look at himself in the mirror. I highly doubt these guys look like Antonio Sabato Jr. or some other stunning supermodel.

Although, the same can be applied towards women. How many girls do you know who will give a chubby/fat guy a chance over a fit and slim guy?

Both men AND women can be very shallow when it comes to looks.

Well said, Mehnaz :)

Everyone has a preference. Some like them thin and in shape, and others like them meaty. There's nothing wrong with wanting either. Personally, I like them in shape.

If one is judging someone with ONLY above qualities and without meeting the person then yes beauty is mostly related to a person's weight. It is like all other attributes that have been defined by the different societies to be the emblem of beauty. for example long neck, fair colour etc. in asian culture. similarly long legs etc. to be considered the sign of beauty in girls in the western culture.

Personally, I find husky men more attractive than skinny guys.

Absolutely.

I like a love handle

I think cozier and more warm and comfy.

Definately more attractive.

but fret u also said u thought obesity was ugly.

What about those women like Oprah Winfrey who simply look malnourished when they are slim? She looks so much more attractive when she has more meat on her bones cause she looks healthier!

Same can be said about Juhi Chawla and Sridevi. After dieting and exercising, they are slim and trim, but look malnourished. That chamak they had when they were fuller is gone.

Obesity is ugly. It's a disease.

i think the 'chamak' is more linked with the youth. also, the above mentioned actresses might not be OVERWEIGHT but they needed to show that 'chamak' by loosing some extra kilos.

I disagree. These actresses looked radiant during the 80s and 90s until they lost weight. Same can be said for Anjuman. Yes, she was quite heavy but didn't look good when she became thin. Some people just look better with meat on their bones.

I like big butts and I can not lie...

That's the problem, dieting. Dieting is not a healthy way to lose weight.

You have to admit that even Oprah Winfrey, after exercising and doing everything the 'healthy' way just didn't right slim. She looks better with meat on her bones. At least that is my opinion.

Well, she was never really "slim", but actually she did look better thinner than she did fat. Besides, Oprah doesn't do it healthy either, she diets like you wouldn't believe.

Oprah is not attractive - thick or thin.
