Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

So I’m going to England for a few days (from the US) and I’m wondering about what beauty products/brands are available there that aren’t readily available here and what I should buy… does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

Check out the brands Inglot and sleek!! ALSO check out barry M's models own nail polishes! And for skincare look at some of amie's products, I think they are organic and the packaging is absolutely ADORABLE

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

  • Sleek blushes/palettes
  • Barry M loose pigments/lip sticks/nail polish
  • SUQQU (I would love the chance to see this in person )
  • Louise Young brushes
  • I’d go to Boots and stock up on amazing skincare from Avene or Oilatum. Or selfridges and check BIBA. Esp. that face palette.
  • Collection 2000 concealer
  • Bourjois blushes and Healthy Mix foundation
  • Becca highlighter
  • Illamasqua (it’s a UK brand)
  • I’d also go to Boots and stock up on the gift sets which are 2 for 3 or something along those lines.

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

Thanks for the great suggestions guys! Have added all of this to my list of stuff to check out. :) Keep them coming please!

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

LUSH! Not really beauty stuff, its a really nice soap/fizz bombs/creams store. You might not want to buy anything but it smells beautiful, go in there and have a good sniff at everything, it's really nice!

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

I think Illamsqua is at Sephora now...and I have seen lush stores in the US as well...

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

M it sounds like you live in the UK! haha but basicallyy what M said! (might even follow some of that advice myself! and i live in the UK)

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

LUSH is great but it's also available in the US, in practically every city. Inglot is also in the US, so I'd visit these places in the US to save time, y'know?

Yes, but they have SO many UK-exclusives, like their amazing brushes and other things like that.

LOL! You def. should, stock up for your wedding!

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

Loadsss of inexpensive and more UK specific brands at Boots + Superdrug..

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

THERE IS AN INGLOT STORE IN THE US?!?! Why was I not aware of this?!

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

M_was_here - I checked out the reviews of the Collection 2000 concealer after reading your post and bought it today. Will let you guys know how I like it in a few!

Btw... BIBA face palette (and their other stuff) is on sale in house of fraser. I bought some things online the other day and saw it. It looks nice as a travel palette especially.

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

Hi all :) im on the hunt for a good concealer. Is the collection 2000 concealer the illuminating one or the other one? thanks in advance x

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

They both have good reviews but I think it's the Lasting perfection one as its talked about more. I tried out both on my hand today and the illuminating one is really watery and thin compared to YSL or Dior (or even the No.7 my sister uses), so personally I wouldn't buy it unless I was only using it to highlight the face.

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

Ok, thanks ill check it out

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

Yup, there is one in NYC, Chicago and a few other places. Check the site for locations. You can also order online but I'm waiting to go to a branch in person so I can make my own palette, there are SO many colors and they're only numbered (not named) so it's hard to get any reviews on specific colors.

Yay! I love that concealer, it's very full-coverage and my mom loves it for her dark spot under her eye. I use it for blemishes and under my eyes as well. And you are SO lucky you have access to HoF and all that in the UK. I was looking to buy the BIBA face palette myself. It's such a legendary brand and I'm not sure if they are closing down again or what so I think I'll ask a friend to pick it up for me. Let me know how you like the concealer! And yes, I was referring to the Lasting Perfection one which comes w/ a doe-foot applicator.

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

^ So this question is for M was here and Stoppit..which shade of the Collection 2000 concealer would you guys recommend for someone who has NC30/35 type skin tone?

You guys have a great knowledge of makeup btw!

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

I bought 03 medium and I'm NC30 (I bought 02 light too but I think medium is going to be the better one) so if you're towards NC35 then I think medium will be the best. If you were over the other side of NC40 then 04 deep.

Re: Beauty stuff to buy from the UK?

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer:
I only really use concealer on the under eye area and my routine is mac select cover-up in NW25 followed by dior skinflash. I wouldn't say this completely vanishes the darkness but enough that it's not obvious/shows up. I like it because both products are so light, it looks natural and generally no one realises I have got to any measures to cover up. Mac select cover-up is pretty watery but dries very quickly (kinda like studio fix fluid) so I dab it on with my finger and quickly blend but because of it's quick drying, my under eye area get's pulled about it a bit. This never worried me before but now I'm in my late twenties, I'm not careful of not pulling at the skin around my eyes.
Lasting perfection is more creamy and easier to apply, however, it seemed to stick to the very fine lines I have developing and made them obvious when they are otherwise barely visible. It was also more difficult to blend the skinflash on top. When I was done, I didn't notice any difference between then and normally to be honest; the circles were covered the same amount rather than more as I was expected.
I will try it again with one eye done with each product as I may be able to tell better then.

I do like it but I don't think it's amazing and pretty much on par with what I currently use. I wouldn't say it's heavy coverage compared to cream concealers that come in pots.

BUMPED!

I’m going again soon… any updates on must-try products? Thanks in advance!
