some suggestions: take off all bulletin boards. replace them with sagacious quotes.
have as many roads tree lined, as we possibly can.

minimize development and leave open space.
have clean roads and wider walks ways for pedestrians.
place art installations at main round abouts and enterances of govt buildings offices, banks, hospitals, and universities.
have free out door sports areas such as badminton.
recycle and make minimal use of materials which contaminate the country’s environment.
have a national holiday where all businesses and fairs will share their responsibility towards ensuring that all aspects of their businesses are ethical.
9. for all places of workship, have parking lots and indoor or outdoor areas for people to hold community events.
students at all level, as individuals should meet up and think up feasible ideas about how to maintain a beautiful Pakistan.
create a social vow as a nation to keep adding to and preserving the beautiful Pakistan & then act on it, individually and collectively.
The forest cover of Pakistan is around 5%, which had undergone a remarkable improvement in the 80s and 90s, because it was down to 2% at one time. This is no where good, it needs to be around 25-30% at least.
?
Impossible! There has hardly been any serious afforestation within Pakistan.

I have noticed that within some of the cities that i visited this year saplings ha been planted on road sides and in the middle of roads - something new that had been added in th last year or 2.
Having clean roads would mean that the people must change their ways and stop dropping litter everywhere. The last gov placed big bins everywhere but sadly most Pakistanis are not capable of using them.
Arty installations have been placed in so many cities, roads, roundabouts, entrances within the last year.
Recycling is an area which needs to be promoted - the 250ml glass soft drink bottles are recycled but what about the others such as other sized glass bottles, plastic bottles, tins, cardboard, paper etc
I did nt come across any recycling facilities even within the ultra-hip areas of Karachi and Lahore - where everything starts.
The worst thing anyone can use is those plastic carrier bags - now they are a real nuisance.
how would you do that?

tj, 5% is also pathetic, but there was some work done to increase it to that, and various programs at schools were initiated. there were some trees that i remember planting in grade 6 at pitus bukhari road (close to shifa) and those trees are still there, and it was a nationwide campaign. the economic survey of pakistan should have more details.
there was also a program initiated by zardari, a massive afforestation program which was also one of his famous cases, where he reportedly made alot of money on it.
entire districts and hill ranges have been denuded of trees - very few areas replanted.
Someone did say the margallas hills behind islamabad are greener now than 30 years ago but th western extension near taxila is browner.

True, but what makes it really hard is that as many trees we plant on roadsides etc, it wont make a difference because we erase and take out entire forests to expand residential areas, or build highways.
There are a lot of other factors that must be taken into account ie energy/fuel, timber uses, Solar energy should be encouraged.
One must also only plant native trees. The hills where forest occured must be allowed to regenerate and then you would need to deal with communities and grazing rights.
Communities must have an input in their living areas. If the cantonments can be kept clean why not the rest of the city?
