Beautiful Feeling....

Re: Beautiful Feeling…

Let’s put it this way TNWB…

After one flight of stairs, you have 10 Rs. After two, you have 20 and so on. It’s upto you to see how many flights of stairs you choose to take…

Re: Beautiful Feeling....

TNWB..I am agreed with most of your thoughts except the end of your post..Mullahs could be wrong but not all of them...U can't generalise anyone...Secondly they have some knowledge and they beleive on that and they transfer it to the people. If you have a better knowledge or better understanding of religion from some other scholar then u should change accordingly..So it's not hard coded to follow what u learnt in ur kindergarten all your life.

Lazy Daisy...Namaz....It's all about "Beleive"...A christian scholar told me once that Beleive is that you sit on the chair and u beleive it would never fall..When we pray, we feel we are close to ALLAH atleast during the prayer time and if we have asked something from ALLAH almighty,he could bless us as he is the most generous...thats our beleive is...But thats not something that anyone could earn from this post...U need to give a try...but i firmly beleive and i have seen a lot of times if you pray five times a day, your life will be in much better state then ever and your problems get dissolve as they never exists or if they don't atleasy u have a releived feeling of fulfilling ur duties towards ALLAH. I am not very punctual for 5 times but i try...and i beleive from what i have seen is to start praying before thinsg will force u to.

Praying Fard is nothing wrong with it..Islam is pretty simple..We don't need to make it more complexed...We have different School of thoughts and after ur research , if you feel that praying FARD is absolutely right (according to one school of thought) then u should go for it...but don't call others wrong bcoz their beleive is different and same applies to others too.

But i really appreciate the way people have expressed their feelings about the prayers.

Regards
Salman

Re: Beautiful Feeling....

Hey Lajjo, Logon ko 1 Rs. tau uthanay kay qabil ho janay dena chahiye before asking them to continue to collect Rs.10 and 20 and so on. Tell me who many of us (Pakistanis) keep all 5 of our prayers? Why not let people start at a simple level and then take further from there. Pehlay muslim to ban jayen, 'noble' muslim ban nay ki bhi Allah ta'ala himmat day day ga hum logon ko.

Salman saab, I feel angry with them cz they force their own understanding on to those people who dont know much of the religion (like me) and mess them up. They hold a responsibility to the society cz of who they call themselves. They're supposed to be responsible. Not just say what they want or how THEY want to see it. They must tell the ACTUAL message of God. They are not doing any good if THEY think what they're doing is good. If they cant spread the true message, they should go back home and sleep in their beds or cupboards whereever they like it and stop giving themselves a respectable status of a 'scholar'. Yeah those who spread the right message, I have no problems with them.

Re: Beautiful Feeling....

My point is very simple.

Bcz prayer/salah/namaz is so important and the first question on the day of judgement will be about prayers, why do we concentrate on LONG prayers and not regularly praying FIVE TIMES as is our DUTY (praying namaz FIVE TIMES which is FARZ)? Sure anyone who is keen and better among us will try to make it more than just FARZ. But arent we make the message/ teachings simple for the common followers? Why complicate it like rocket science so a common person cant even relate to his/her own faith thinking he/she is not capable or anywhere closed to being called a 'muslim'?

Re: Beautiful Feeling....

I replied in this thread just to let u all know that I have nothing to say about the topic.:)

Re: Beautiful Feeling…

most sensible post in this thread!

Re: Beautiful Feeling....

I think this is a great thread, and i wanted to share my thoughts with you all, but before i could post it, i happened to read Fayz's and Lajawab's posts. They both summed up beautifully what i wanted to say.

Farz you pray for Allah Taala, sunnat for Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and nafil for your own sake. I skip sunnat or nafil only if i am in absolute rush or something. I feel guilty inside if i skip sunnat or nafil for no reason.

Re: Beautiful Feeling....

I checked with my dad, he said the extra prayers are read so that if you miss your FARZ ones then those can be compensated.

I was also thinking that maybe the extra and long prayers are stressed by Pakistanis cz knowing Pakistanis, they know they wont keep the prayers anyway. No matter Farz or non-Farz. So maybe they want them to pray long prayers so that it could be compensated in case they miss the regular prayers (which they WILL MISS, no matter what).

Could be that.

Re: Beautiful Feeling....

I agree with you .. Namaz helps you in every problem ... You feel as if there's some one backing you up in you problems. I have experienced this my self lately.
things i have been trying to sort out for past few months are ready to go !
After namaz you must be feeling so light as if it's the first deep breath you took in a day !

Re: Beautiful Feeling....

I agree with TWNB, I have been having the same problems and I think the only reason I am so depressed these days is because I havent been praying.
When you are at work, you dont have time to do 12 rakahs for dhuhr, which is what I learnt from pakistani schools. When I came here everyone told me all I needed was four rakahs, which made life alot easier and I did get into a habit of praying regularly which is better.

Re: Beautiful Feeling....

When I don't pray, terrible things happen to me. When I pray, good things happen.

I didn't pray for 5 days for the first time in 8 years and next thing I know, I have a $2300 repair bill for a bug dent in my car.

I start praying again and within 24 hours I receive a document that allows me to stay in Canada legally for another year. The document was issued 2 weeks earlier than it was due.. and if it waited 2 more weeks then it would have gotten delayed in the mail etc.

Many people have told me that these small problems I encounter is because I dont keep my prayers. And if I regularly kept my prayers, the small diffculties in life would pass by so smoothly without causing any ill effects or not even occure. And I have also noticed that is very true. I mean my problems do dissolve like they never existed as soon as I start my prayers (in most cases from the very next day) and I find myself wondering and recalling, "Oh what was I upset about...? What was the issue?" And other than enjoying a problem-free life, my heart, my mind, my soul starts to feel so serene (Yes, Mamaof3, there are times. I wasnt kidding :) )

So many times, I tried to keep all my prayers but after a few days I always tended to lose the will and then many months pass by without me praying even months. Then Im surrounded by those irritating problems again which make me remember God and again after a few days of desire to seek 'God' and be His servant, I return to the old status inviting unwanted difficulties. So the cycle continues.

I'll be honest with you, I only read it up to the part quoted. I go through the same thing, but now as I'm coming back to my senses (dont ask) I want to pray, Fajr prayer is a must, it relieves me from all the worries and makes my day go smoother.

Re: Beautiful Feeling…

True Lo0natic.

CrashDummie, you know we hardly have a 15/20 mins break at work (one break). So when I was new, some girls would tell me, “we’re going for prayer.” And I was so confused as to how they can manage to eat/perform wudhu and pray 12 raka’at too in 15/20 mins. And when I watched them pray, I was like… “WTF, what kind of prayer is that?” Here they start and there they’re done. Most amazing part was that they’d never miss it. As soon as they break would start, they’d seen in a rush to FIRST pray and then do anything else. Now I know how they can manage not to miss prayers even at work.

maddy, I’ve heard that usually financial losses are due to less charity work. Maybe you need to give more to the poor. Each ticket for overspeeding reminds me of that :bummer:

Mahnoor, did you think of those prayers which we’ve missed? I often used to think if I ever decided to pray my ‘qaza’ namazes, how Im gonna do that with Isha ones. I mean 17 raka’at qaza namazes?? :bummer: But now even those qaza namazes sound like a piece of cake to me. I hope to complete those too before Im called :bummer:

Re: Beautiful Feeling....

I know, its very imp to pray and its good that you can take out time now, inshallah i will too. Your thread made me wanna research this more, and I will keep reading more sources. I have a whole bunch of books on namaz and I am gonna get more from toronto.

Amounts of rakats for each time are:
Fajr = First two rakat Sunnat Mokadda then two rakat Fard;

Zuhr =First four rakat Sunnat Mokadda then four rakat Fard then two rakat sunnat Mokadda; (two rakat nafils at the end are optional)
Asr =First four rakat sunnat ghair mokadda then Four rakat Fard; (four rakat Sunnate Ghair mokadda befor this is optional)
Maghrib = First three rakat Fard then two rakat Sunnat Mokadda; (Two nafils after sunnat are optional)
Isha = First Four rakat Fard then two rakat sunnat mokkada then three rakats Wajib; (four rakat sunnat e ghair mokadda before farz, two nafil before and two after Wajib are optional)

Re: Beautiful Feeling…

But it still wont change my chunni munni nose khawa :bummer:

But I dont hate it like before anymore

P.S: “I was thinking maybe I’ll increase it (prayers) gradually but for the time being, all I need is to keep all the 5 prayers regularly. Just recenly a guy told me, ‘Abhi bhi sambhal jao before it’s too late, bachi. God is giving you some small ‘jhatkaas’ to straighten your ways and keep your prayers.’”
