Beautiful description of ALLAH (swt), in the Quran

Surah Noor

  1. Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The similitude of His light is as a niche wherein is a lamp. The lamp is in a glass. The glass is as it were a shining star. (This lamp is) kindled from a blessed tree, an olive neither of the East nor of the West, whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself) though no fire touched it. Light upon light. Allah guideth unto His light whom He will. And Allah speaketh to mankind in allegories, for Allah is Knower of all things.

  2. (This lamp is found) in houses which Allah hath allowed to be exalted and that His name shall be remembered therein. Therein do offer praise to Him at morning and evening.

JazakhAllah Khair :k:

**He is Allah besides Whom there is no god; the Knower of the unseen and the seen; He is the Beneficent, the Merciful **

**He is Allah, besides Whom there is no god; the King, the Holy, the Giver of peace, the Granter of security, Guardian over all, the Mighty, the Supreme, the Possessor of every greatness Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him). **

He is Allah the Creator, the Maker, the Fashioner; His are the most excellent names; whatever is in the heavens and the earth declares His glory; and He is the Mighty, the Wise.

Re: Beautiful description of ALLAH (swt), in the Quran

Assalamalikum, Brother this is very well a description of Allah placing Muhammad saw in this world to guide us. Not to say that Rasoolallah saw was the LIGHT of Allah swt, nauzubillah, or created from it, he was infact the being that SHOWED us Allah’s light.

The lamp described is the being we know as Rasoolallah saw. I remember a scholar giving the tafseer of Surah noor once explaining that.

SubhanAllah and Jazakallah for the post!

thanks Brother STP. this is amazing. i had started a thread on Suah Noor.
spiritual connection with the Maker is indeed very vivid and empowering.
the beautiful metaphor of Allah swt being Noor or light has so much to inspire.
