Beating the Dead Horse

Okay I know there have been a million threads on digital cameras but I really need some input. I have two questions, first does anyone know if these digital cameras would be any good? If these aren’t good than what would anyone recommend. I need something basic nothing fancy for general photos nothing close to professional photography . My budget (max) is $130.

HP 3.1 MP Photosmart PS435v Digital Camera
3.1 MP; 5x digital zoom; 16 MB internal memory with SD card slot; HP Instant Share; USB compatible; video clip and audio feature

Samsung 3 MP Digimax 301 Digital Camera
Digital camera with a 3.2 mega-pixel CCD, 3X digital zoom, 1.6 color TFT LCD, movie clip with voice, 16 MB internal memory, macro mode
Digimax 301

Polaroid 4.1 MP PDC 4355 Digital Camera
Great intro to digital photography, 4.1 MP resolution, 16 MB built-in storage, SD memory card compatible, 1.5" color TFT LCD, 4x digital zoom
PDC 4355

Second question, is buying Duracell rechargeable batteries and charger a waste?

Thank you so much!

Re: Beating the Dead Horse

Search for a digital camera made by the companies specializing in cameras only i.e canon, nikon, olympus etc..the same way i tend to avoid buying phones by motorola; it maybe an awesome company when it comes to manufacturing communication and radio devices but cellular phones just ain't their thing..don't get HP cameras..and don't know much about samsung...

chargers and rechargeable batteries are awesome investments, it usually pays off after going through ten recharge sessions..and help save the environment at the same time..

Re: Beating the Dead Horse

I will strongly Double Abdullah K… for… Buying the Camera from Camera Manufectureses… not from Sony, HP, Panasonic etc etc

Secondly… Even if you dont wana buy expenssive or near to professionla Camera… still… Look for 3x Optical Zoom… Digital Zoom is useless.

e.g… I think Olympus D-series 3.0 or 3.2 MP with 3x Optical will cost amost near to Ur range.

And.. Offcousre.. Go for Chargable Battery Cells and Charger…
First… Normal Cells wont Last for long while Taking Shots specialy if U r Using Zoom
2nd… It will defenetly pay off its price in short time

GOOD LUCK

Re: Beating the Dead Horse

Na, tho what’s wrong with Sony cameras? I think Sony makes one of the best cameras out there, specially with their lense technology they make awesome camcorders as well.

Re: Beating the Dead Horse

SONY has not Match to NIKKON, CANNON or OLYMPUS… Although I am currently using my self.. SONY :bummer:

BUT… Looking for Another NIKKON or CANNON… most Preferebaly.. I will go for… Either CANNON 300D or NIKKON D70 … BUT … They are Expenssive :bummer:

Re: Beating the Dead Horse

I would very strongly agree to the comments above about buying a camera from CAMERA manufacturers, i.e Nikon Canon and Olympus.
The thing I like about Sony is the info lithium battery, no need for cells or anything, just plug the camera to the charger.

I have been using a Nikon3200 for the past few months, excellent results. Very Simple to use, no fancy stuff, just point and shoot. Can also shoot small movie clips ( QT though - no good for emailing and stuff ). But the pic quality is wonderfull. I think its a little bit out of your current range, around 275 - 300 ( $CND ). Uses SD cards, which are cheaper as compared to other storage media.
