I used to LOVE making jewellery as a kid. I would make rings and bracelets and necklaces and give them to my cousins and sister and mother. At that time I also used to collect beads, usually the glass beads and also little crystals and pearls. Hmm anyway, I wanted to pick it up again and I went to this beads store near downtown and oh my god I’m so inspired! I spent ages in there and bought tons of hemp and little pearls and big beads and small beads made of many different materials. I spent over a 100 but it’s well worth it I can’t wait to go back, I wish i owned that store.
Anyway, they had these beaded curtains up. You know those stringy kinds. they were made of hemp with big fat colored beads at intervals and a bunch of beads all together near the bottom. Hehe so well I was thinking of making that and using alternatively red and green hemp for each strand and using big colored beads but with smaller intervals and a ton of beads at the bottom. the one they had was 800 bucks so you can imagine how much its gonna cost me to make it. Yikes! but im gonna go to pakistan and stock up on beads and silk thread and stuff, cuz its cheap there.
Other ideas I had were:
Picture frames with silver wire and beads
the usual necklaces and earings and bracelets
getting a painting and covering it with beads. my cousin did this, she’s an artist and she made this thing with women in tradional clothing dancing and everything was made of beads, like no paint or anything. it was gorgeous
covering clay pots with paint and beads. i have this one in mind already using white paint and gold glitter and beads. I made a multicolored one a few years ago with many different colors and glitter and it was gorgeous
decorations
eggs. like cover an egg with papier mache, slather it in glue and cover with beads and paint and glitter
bags
oh ****, i can’t wait to get started i bought so much stuff but it still feels like i bought nothing at all. i forgot to buy pliers and glue and wood oh well.
i think that's a great idea sarah, you can do almost anything you want with those and it's definetly a great idea to make things and give it as a gift to a friend or a loved one
my friend works in the arts and crafts store and she makes all these bracelets n stuff, it's pretty kewl
i've always wanted to do the same cuz those beads are just so awesome with all the different colors n shapes, etc. im just too lazy to do anything
but since you've given plenty of ideas, i might give it a try :D

Ya Chorni, same here, so lazy :D i dunno how i used to sit for hours doing it as a kid, putting microscopically tiny beads into string and the necklaces usually used to be those ones with tons of strands. i was so into it, and painting and making stuff, but im soooo lazy now and can't be bothered. im afraid that im so friggin excited right now but like later ill be like, whateva...

anyways i guess it’s the mahol too, here all we do is work and study and after that we just get so lazy and tired that we dont’ wana do anything. but over there life’s so calm n slow sigh i miss those days
anyways when i was a little i used to make necklaces and braceletes out of flowers, i used to b an expert at it too lol
i remember we used to have these flower trees in our school and my chachuz would always be late in picking me up so i would just sit there pick the flowers and make all sorts of stuff with them

and oh yeah, i figured out what to make. im making this open square hemp choker with black hemp with this long black thing that has flowers painted on it. i dunno what its called but it’s so pretty, it looks so chinese.
i used to have a mega collection of all types of beads and threads and little cloth pieces of all types...used to make jewelry for my dolls with them... :) and it was like my most treasured collexion
used to put the beads in the thread with hands when i found out that they actually have a needle, a really thin one, which u can use for this...
ended up giving away my collection to my younger cousins midway thru college...
i still have my favorite golden thread and white pearly beads...
I can’t wait to go back, I wish i owned that store.
