Re: BCCI still stubborn on DRS
The last test series should have been a real eye-opener for them
Re: BCCI still stubborn on DRS
fair comment

disgraceful from other boards who are pro DRS but will accede to BCCI's demand. at least BCCI is sticking to its principle of No to DRS..but other boards support DRS yet will agree to BCCI's demand. they are the real disgrace.

Re: BCCI still stubborn on DRS
DRS is beneficial for good bowling sides and bowling has always been India's weak point. Batting is their strength
Could this be the reason?

Since batting is India's forte, I think BCCI thinks that if bowlers are allowed to go for a review, the chances of our FTB's getting out increase. This will be a major threat to India's batting considering our bowling is terrible. This system is advantageous for good bowling sides who can get players out for LBW's and caught behind a lot. Indian bowlers rarely do that. Most of the wickets they get are straight forward catch or sometimes clean bowled.
DRS may not be perfect. But it is better than umpires making horrendous calls on the field.

Re: BCCI still stubborn on DRS
..........Srinivasan's concerns are understood to still centre on a belief that the technology could be easily manipulated and is unreliable. It has been learnt that he made the claim that India would pull out of bilateral series if a system was in place where the home side could insist on the DRS.......
and the umpires cannnot be manipulated and are 100% reliable.
I suppose this would continue till BCCI can have a company that would produce a similar technology and sell it to BCCI which would then charge royalty on its use wherever it is used. They are against monopoly of Australian and English companies producing DRS technology. I am sure the reasons are financial rather than cricketing and that was hinted by Mr Srinivasan in an earlier statement.
