And fine, you hate the English, but what did the Irish ever do to you? They too were oppressed by the English - they should be our brothers and sisters in arms, shaking off the yoke of the imperialist oppressors - you should be standing with them - not against them!

But the Bangladeshis parted ways with the Pakistanis - we don't owe them any loyalty.

By your logic, then we (the we being Pakistanis) are half Indian and owe some loyalty to India. Tell me, are you going to root for India now?

Not really. I have one close Bangladeshi friend and he doesn't really care. Although he's from Abu Dhabi so that might be a factor.

yes...foreign born/bred are different....i am talking about folks who born/bred in BD.......their whole curriculum is likely solely based on hating pakistan...like somewhat similar to ours is about hating indians :D

That was a freebie. We felt bad for Ireland so we said why not? Kinda how we let Bangladesh win in 2003 I believe.

On a serious note, I couldn’t care less if Ireland lost, I’m not even following the world cup! The Pakistani team has put me off and I’m not the only one (as it turned out in my blog that I wrote at the beginning of this world cup).

Tis a statement of fact. Every world cup we give someone a freebie. Just wait. One nation will get it this world cup as well. We have been doing so since 1999 and its a tradition we are very proud off!

And not following the world cup? BLASPHEMY! Also don't encourage Sehrysh. She has enough issues with her Femur being Pakistani.

I think it will be a repeat of 2003. Win against Canada, Kenya, Zimbabwe and get beaten by the better teams. But the format this time would still allow us to go through to quarterfinals after which it's anyone's game.
