BBQ Sauce-homemade

I absolutely love bbq sauce. Had never tried it at home until today. The recipe is extremely simple and most of the ingredients are availible at home anyways. I found the recipe at recipezaar.com and tweaked it a bit.

You need:
Half a medium onion, chopped finally
3 cloves garlic, chopped
3 tbsp olive oil
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup worcestershire sauce
1 2/3 cups tomato ketchup
1/2 tsp chilli powder, the desi kind

Sautee the onion and garlic in olive oil until soft. Add the rest of the ingredients and let simmer for 20-30 mins. Use with whatever kind of meat.

I used it on a bbq beef sandwich, with pasanda cut beef slices sprinkled with salt, pepper and meat tenderizer and simmered in sauce until tender. This was then served on kaiser rolls. Yumm! :yummy:

Re: BBQ Sauce-homemade

OMg, Gummy i am so sorry!!! I forgot to answer you. Waisay where have you been? havent seen you in a long time.

All i did was heat up a few drops of oil, added the beef, sprinkled some salt, pepper and meat tederizer on both sides and let it cook in its own juices. When it was almost done, i added the bbq sauce.

Re: BBQ Sauce-homemade

hey Ira can i use mutton instead coz no one in my family eat beef

Re: BBQ Sauce-homemade

redroses, you can basically use anything you like. I have used the same bbq sauce on drum sticks and they came out really juicy as well.

Re: BBQ Sauce-homemade
