BBQ Cookout Tips

So after a lot of research, I got my very first BBQ grill and I’m loving the outdoor cooking experience.
Just thought I’d ask for some tips that can make the BBQ experience more enjoyable as well as efficient.

From masaalas for marinating meat to using hickory sticks for flavor to cleaning and maintenance tips, please feel free to share. I’ll do the same after another couple of tries with the unit.

Re: BBQ Cookout Tips

Few everyday BBQ tips

  • DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT open the lid frequently (specially in the beginning). Let it cook on low heat, Initially for at least 10-15 min without opening the lid.

  • Whole (chicken) leg quarters do look great on table but if you make 2-3 pieces of leg quarters before marination, it will need less marination time and will taste yummy.

  • If you have invited people over or want a quick turnaround time, you can tenderize you marinated chicken in microwave and then BBQ it for 10 min. Chicken will be ready in 10 min and will taste exactly the same.

  • If you have double cooking surface in the grill, you can also BBQ fries on the top level while doing meat in lower. BBQ fries tastes yummy and are healthy (as compared to fried ones)

  • Once you are done, spend 5 min in cleaning the grill while its warm/hot. Its easy to clean warm grill then cleaning it before next BBQ session

Re: BBQ Cookout Tips

I line the bbq wih double thickness cooking foil.It hepls with heat distribution and once you are done, just pick the whole up and throw away.

Wrap some small potatoes in foil and put amongst the coals...they will soon be done and you can just split and eat!
