Kapil Dev (Captain/All Rounder)
Mohinder Amarnath (All Rounder)
Mohammad Azharuddin (Former Captain/Batsman)
Sachin Tendulkar (Batsman)
Rahul Dravid (Batsman)
Sourav Ganguly (Left Handed Batsman)

and Pakistan only 4:

Imran Khan (Former Captain/ All Rounder)
Wasim Akram (Former Captain/All Rounder)
Javed Miandad
Rameez Raja (Batsman)

SAeed Anwar and Zaheer Abbas should have been there?

I would take Zaheer on Rameez any day.

I dont agree with the BBC team. WE have to make ATLEAST 2 changes in available players list without looking at other countries players.

  • Replace Ganguly with Saeed Anwar
  • Replace Ramiz with Zaheer

I also doubt if i will include Mohinder Amarnath in the available players team but above mentioned 2 changes are for sure

but as this is not in my hand to replace the players in BBC list here is my dream team from BBC's available players

  • Viv Richard
  • Brian Lara

This, like most internet surveys will be STUPID , UNSCIENTIFIC and ILLOGICAL. We should not be even wasting time discussing it. We all know that there are far too many Indians surfing the net as compared to people from other cricket playing nations and so such surveys are automatically biased .
BTW, I would not select KAPIL DEV and RAMIZ RAZA for my mohalla team... well.... you get the point...

This is a not a survey balkey its a competition and you have to select the dream team from the list of available 33 players (pre defined list by BBC) and if that matches the team that BBC experts are creating then you will will a prize (flat screen TV).

Nakhreywali Aunty... may be I jumped the gun there.... but my comments about web-based team voting still holds true (in general)....
Having said that, I dont know why Ramiz Raza is in the list and Saeed Anwar/Waqar Younis aren't. Ramiz never looked a very solid batsman to me.

Ramiz was not always like this. He was a very stylish and good ODI batsman for his days. When in form his leg side shorts were a treat to watch.Watch is 102 againt WI in the WC 92.

Do keep in mind in those days the pitches were not so batsmen friendly and the bowlers could bowl short deliveries. In those days 250 was a very good total. Unlike today, when even 300 on a good pitch is not enough.
