BBC 2 Sunday: In This World

BBC 2 is showing In this World on Sunday at around 9 pm. It’s an excellent movie about the journey of two potential asylum seekers through Pakistan on to Britain. I loved this movie..and recommend it.

p.s: A large part of is in pashto so pashto speakers will particularly love it.

Thank you Zakk!
Will definitely watch it

edit: I just checked the BBC website and there was no such movie listed for tomorrow!
There was however another programme scheduled for 8pm:

*I Met Osama Bin Laden

Sun 28 Mar, 20:00 - 20:50 50 mins

A detailed profile of one of the world’s most enigmatic figures, told entirely by people who actually met him. Their accounts of their dealings with Bin Laden trace his life from his early childhood in Saudi Arabia to his activities in Afghanistan, culminating in the events leading up to 11th September 2001.

It's scheduled for 9pm

*Sun 28 Mar, 21:00 - 22:30 90 mins

BBC Films presents the UK television premiere of Michael Winterbottom's BAFTA award winning film, which moved the Daily Telegraph critic to describe it as the "The Best British Film of my lifetime..."

Jamal and Enayat are Afghani cousins living in the Pakistani city of Peshawar. Their family decides to send them to England to give them the chance of a better existence. The pair join the ranks of the one million refugees per year who place their lives in the hands of people smugglers. Contains some strong language and upsetting scenes. [Michael Winterbottom, 2002]

cheerz zakk ... was wondering when they were going 2 show it ... missed the day n time when they were showing clips of it ... so thankeww ...

Thanks zakk, that was an immensely powerful film. Very moving.

Wow

I just saw it.

Wow

One thing I don't understand, it was a movie right? Not a documentary so they were acting all along?
What was that at the end? ABout Jamal getting living in London and everything?

I'm sooo glad I watched it, thanks again Zakki

Yeh it was a movie, shot like a documentary (based on a true story).

Basically, his asylum application was rejected, but he got exceptional stay (probably because he's an unaccompanied minor). This exceptional stay will cease the day before his 18th birthday, as he'll no longer be seen as a minor, and will therefore have to go back to Afghanistan.

Chances are he'll keep appealing and his appeals will continue to be rejeted, which will give him another year or so in this country. But at the end of the day, he'll still have to move back :(

Glad to hear you like it..A little update on the story:

Guardian
