Of course she will work with him, as will anyone who wants the second kursi of state.
BB says ready to work with Musharraf
By Anwar Iqbal
WASHINGTON, Dec 15: Pakistan People’s Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto has said that she remains open to working with President Pervez Musharraf if he holds fair and free polls in the country. **Her remarks, made in an interview to Voice of America radio, reflect a major departure from her earlier stance that she will not work with Mr Musharraf. In the same interview, Ms Bhutto also indicated that she believed Mr Musharraf was capable of holding fair and free elections. **The president, she said, could still surprise people by conducting an honest vote, although she believed that was a remote possibility. “At the moment the situation is not conducive to fair elections within Pakistan. But certainly, President Musharraf has taken some steps that surprised many people, including me. “And that included his retirement as the chief of the army staff. So if he surprises us all by having a fair election that will be very welcome. But the way things are going today, that would be a very big surprise,” Ms Bhutto said.
Speaking to VOA by telephone, the PPP chief said she might still find it possible to cooperate with President Musharraf. But, she added, that would depend on what happened in the Jan 8 elections. “It’s very difficult to say anything on this matter at this stage,” she said. “A lot will depend on the elections themselves and what the mood of the people is following the elections, because if the elections are rigged, it’s going to put Gen Musharraf on a confrontational course with all opposition parties.” In an interview to the Washington Times earlier this week, Ms Bhutto had said that while she might form an alliance with other opposition forces, including Nawaz Sharif, a similar arrangement with Musharraf was no more possible. She had also ruled out any arrangement with pro-Musharraf political parties.
Ye nahi hosakta, nahi hosakta, nahi hosakta. Why are the political parties trying to work with the dictator, rather than ousting him. I thought he was at his weakest point.
They all are fishes of the same dirty pond…Musharraf, Nawaz, BB, Altaf, Mullahs…If they had any morals, they all should have been long dead with shame.
haha... i know where you are going with this...lol...
...only if these fishes join a clean pond and instead of nurturing and protecting themselves, they'd nurture and protect those who are dying of hunger and crime.
even I dont know where I am going with this Lusi.. ppl like this have a stanglehold on our country and it is hard for even teh cleanest outsider to work without aligining with them , and that is a sad state of affairs.
Yeh to waqt bataayga kon geedrh hay aor kon sherni/sher. wait a second Mush took u-turn and forgave all corruption/deal cases, now "sherni and sher are addressing masses. Mush who is no longer "Sher" listens to all kinds of allegations left and right with patience and without any response.:)
Why is BB, the so called champion of democracy ready to work with a dictator?
She has been outplayed by Musharraf so many times now, she has now given in and accepted that he is not going anywhere - despite all the grand predictions of 2007. :)

Amazing. An Oxford Educated former PM, being outplayed by a so-called dictator. :D

I think with Fatima Bhutto now coming into the limelight, BB wants power, or even some semblance of power to maintain her side of the family's influnece in Pakistani politics. Hence, I think she will in the end accept a Sonia Gandhi-type role after the elections, if another PPP Prime Minister is appointed.
