Is BB good or is BB/PPP bad? Make up your mind for goodness sake

Bhutto to visit US for democracy talks
WASHINGTON: Former Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto is to visit the United States next week amid reports of political wrangling with the ruling establishment in Pakistan, sources have revealed.
Bhutto will leave Dubai for the US on May 28. Sources in her Pakistan Peoples Party-P said that the former premier would meet senior US officials in Washington and expressed the hope that meetings would help restore democracy in Pakistan.
When her aides contacted the State Department for arranging her meetings with US officials they were told that Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs Christina Rocca or other senior officials would be happy to meet Bhutto, her party source said.
On Thursday, President General Pervez Musharraf told reporters that his government was negotiating with Bhutto a certain arrangement on the future political set up of the country. âWe need to discourage extremist elements by working with moderate political parties, including PPP-P, especially to have some agreement beyond 2007,â he said.
Earlier this month, State Department spokesman Richard Boucher also urged President Gen Musharraf to quit the army but said for Washington democracy in Pakistan was âmore than the (dispute over Musharrafâs) uniformâ and that the United States wants the next elections, scheduled in 2007, to be held in accordance with âinternational standardsâ and with âfull participationâ of all political parties.

Iâll tell you whatâs really going on. Itâs true cos a bloke in the pub told me.
Basically, In UAE, you cannot live as a resident after the age of 60 cos no-one will give you a work permit to stay on. Benazir, being cognizant of UAE immigration laws, has realised that she cannot stay in Dubai indefinitely, so has to kick-start the democratic process in Pakistan as a vehicle for her re-entry into Pakistan.
Itâs funny how she didnât feel Pakistan didnât need democracy as long as she had a valid UAE visa. Now suddenly, Pakistan needs democracy because our governance is tied to UAE immigration laws.
I heard that Mr 10%, keen on another Treasury Bench job, has started going to night school as the Financial Services industry practices have changed since he was last released from prison.
I can almost hear all those ministerial clothes being taken out of PPP closets, being dusted down by re-awakened waderaâs chamchas.
As much as you hate to admit it, Pakistan needs Ganja and BB, fpr the sake of political harmony...
Maybe Democracy with these two plus the military danda is whats required for the short term...
mate ganja and BB are not good for pakistan? yaar bhool gaye during their governments donon ne pakistan ko kitna loota tha? I agree that everyone is corrupt but man if BB or ganja come back into power...yaar is baar pakistan will be sold...yeh log pakistan ko bech deingay ....
**But Ms. Bhutto says it has been made clear to her that the new political openness does not yet include her, and she cannot yet return.
âIt has been privately communicated to me that while political space will be granted to my husband and some of the other opposition leaders from the other parties, that I must not come back, because the whole space that has been granted will be closed up,â she explained**

"Gastronomic indulgence and a crowd of self-seeking flatterers continue to be the two main features of Nawaz Sharifâs life in the luxurious environs of Saroor Palace in Jeddah. Though there are differences of approach, the Sharif brothers are willing to bide their time in political wilderness. "
Here is the latest on the delusional world of Nawaz Sharif and his butt kissing followersâŚ
Honestly, why do politicians in Pakistan treat these people like they are some kind of god!
reports like these freak me out really...i really wonder whats with Gen Mush on this...what kind of chess is this...?
all an avg pakistani knows is the crap of the past, false hopes and miserable present with similar faces of those who ravaged being invited to ravage again...these mistakes will hurl down Mush big time...unless he has some really really big plans to play the puppets...and make sure the puppets remain puppets with all life coming from the puppeteers hand and non from within...
The so called reformist President of Pakistan is doing all he can to remain in power for the next five years after 2007 national elections, he has already started his campaign and this is what he wants.
-Remain President (even if he has to quit his military job)
-Have the authority to disqualify the parliament (Article 58-2B) and also wants to head the National Security council.
I am not against what he wants, I would rather vote for him in a free a fair elections, but I am against all that he is doing to secure his slot as the president. Pakistani press is full of reports that the army has started some sort of negotiations with none other than PPPâs Baynazir Buttho to secure the presidency. The army and the president know that the current kings party is incapable of securing any majority in the next elections so the same old Baynazir is again in action.
So now my question is if there is an iota of truth in these reports about dealing with Baynazir, then whatâs the difference between him and all the political and non political presidents before him. Since coming in to power (Oct 1999) he has promised political reform but he ended up consolidating his grip on power with the same corrupt elements of the political structure that he promised to get rid off. Baynazir and Nwaz Sharif were demonized as the reasons for the failure of democracy in Pakistan by the president and now the whole process is depending upon them again.
I think in the last six years the president has failed miserably in establishing any institutions, which can help democracy in Pakistan. I see no difference in between him and Zia ul haq, both were the product of wars (Afghan War and War on Terror) and both are extremist (Right and left) So I just hope he doesnât get the same fate as Zia.
