Meri nigaahein bechain.

           Mera wajood, 

           Mujassam intezar.

           Meri ana,

           Meri quat -e- goyai ko salb kiye,

           Khamoosh!

           Meri arzoo,

           Sada -e- bazgasht ki tarhan bhatakti,

           Meri hasti ki chitanon mein gum.

           Main ney tum se chand sitarey to na mangey they!

           Tehe sumandar key gohar to na chahey they!

           Faqat chand harf -e -wafa ki arzoo key thee.

            Jo mera Taj Mahal banain.

           Sang -e -mer mer ka Taj Mahal nahin,

           Lafzoon sey tajdeed e wafa to kar do!!
