Battle for Lahore.

Re: Battle for Lahore.

My friend, I am still waiting on dinners from Mushy lovers who predicted 300 seats for PMLQ in the last elections  Ironically, the guppie who predicted Shiekh Rasheeds glorious victory was also Sohaib (spelled a little differently)

Me being in Lahore does not make a difference anyways, nor does my support or lack off, just injecting a dose of reality. Imran has not really learnt from his past mistakes. He picked a land mafia bloke in Pindi to contest in the last by elections against a PMLN unknown (Shakeel Awan) and his land mafia guy did not even get 3rd place. Now he is making the same mistake by supporting one of the most notorious land mafia scammers/badmaashes (perhaps second to Riaz Bahria). Read more about Leema Badmash (ex PMLQ con) in the link below  I am sure you are a smart guy, and all sensible PTI supporters should protest against inclusion of such corrupt individuals because this is not going to bring about any change. I would, but sadly there are just too many individuals like these gaining notoriety with PTI. Nevertheless, those that still believe in the party should protest Imran’s fondness for anyone who throws in the bucks defying his principles.

Meet PTI’s New Lahore President

Also, check this out, a fair unbiased analysis of the recent turn of events focused on Aleem’s control of PTI Lahore.

Imran’s Dilemma in Lahore

**It is alleged that Imran has a soft corner for Aleem Khan and Jehangir Tareen since they rush in with party funds as soon as they see those are needed. The worse battle ground was Lahore and I don’t say this metaphorically. Even PTI enthusiast column writers are claiming the elections were rigged and they back this with the opinion of hundreds of supporters whom they met or who came to them with their grievances. Just before the elections, Aleem Khan threw four grand dinners for the 1950 members who were supposed to vote. He allegedly distributed some party funds among them too, which apparently did the trick but it did not stop there. Aleem Khan filed an FIR against the contestant Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed’s brother Mian Mustafa Rasheed and six other supporters for theft. All of them are behind bars for the past six days, not because there’s nobody to bail them out but the fact is that they wish to remain there in protest. They have resorted to even a hunger strike to get Imran Khan’s attention.****Even before these elections Imran Khan had stopped going to the Jail road office (Mehmood-ur-Rasheed’s party office, the base camp of PTI since 2007) and is now found at Mall road office (Aleem Khan’s domain) for party meetings. PML (N) is trying to get a hold of Mehmood-ur-Rasheed for a long time but their efforts have multiplied after these unsavory happenings during the elections. They are offering him a ticket for NA126. PML (N), who gave Umar Sohail Zia Butt, Sharif family’s near blood relative, the ticket for this constituency in 2008 but are now apparently sick of him. He hasn’t installed a water tap in the last five years. His sole claim to the seat is the fun he provides the kids around where he lives, who gather to see him fit himself into a small sports car every morning.

PML(N) is topping all the graphs and charts these days. PPP has improved their figure somehow. PTI is sinking for the past year or so. Their last hope is the grand fair injection scheduled for 23rd March at the Pakistan monument in Lahore. This hoped for great party showing could be the make or break event for Imran Khan’s tsunami. He could pick the right momentum from there. If it is a small wave, everything he has so far done, alongwith this intra party election, would have been in vain and would mean another five years in the political wilderness.

**p.s. Haroon Rasheed, who is otherwise a PTI supporting journalist (and respected) too wrote an article about the PTI’s fondness for people like Aleem Khan and Rasheed Bhatti (who is facing criminal charges).

Re: Battle for Lahore.

I have serious reservations about how the polling is gone in Lahore and what kind of people have been selected. How ever I'll still vote Pti in the next elections.

Re: Battle for Lahore.

This is my constituency. Khadim e aalas relative is the mna there. :@:

Re: Battle for Lahore.

Against All Odds, PTI still going to win 60-80 NA seats.....Pakistani people are tired of PPP & PMLN noora Khushti.

Re: Battle for Lahore.

At the position of today
Less than ten

Re: Battle for Lahore.

First, yes Aleem Khan should not have won. This guy has cases against him and some of them ARE genuine. This is why PTI Lahore’s election is being challenged and I am all for it. IK admitted as much today in press conference that we did face problems in certain areas and some people were elected who had question mark hovering over them. But which party had the guts to challenge its leaders for a selection? let alone an election. Appreciate steps in right direction

PMLN is topping all charts because of electables and lotas all over pakistan. This is traditional old fashioned politics. If you saw latest survey, there are two indexes.. electability and popularity. PTI & IK stil topping those charts all over pakistan but delay in elections have cost them dearly in electability index. If PTI can bridge this gap with a strong election campaign (which I am sure it will), you will be surprised to no end.

One difference between PPP-PML-N & PTI (that even liberal critics like Najam Sethi, Hamid Mir and NFP have acknowledged) is traditional and non traditional politics. PTI is trying to change pakistani politics for the better. They are trying to make it issues based rather than electables/constituency based which has harmed us to no end. PTI may or may not sweep the elections but their slogan of change is now widely acknowledged.

PML-N winning with majority of PPP faces. What difference will it make to our fortunes? not much!

Re: Battle for Lahore.

PPP have defeated these all electable in 1970 , 1977 , 1988 ,1993 and 2008 .
43 years experience of winning the elections .
Even won in February 2013

Re: Battle for Lahore.

1977 elections were rigged, 93 was rigged and Feb 2008 was won on the basis of sympathy votes.

Don't give any credence to the surveys favoring PPP as you will have a rude shock in the elections.

Re: Battle for Lahore.

I hope you can announce now that 2013 elections are rigged .

Re: Battle for Lahore.

‘Yes Aleem Khan should not have won’…

That is all I read in your post, and that is what I said previously. This is why PTI has no chance of winning in Lahore. Let me go back a few years and give you a classic example yet again. In the Pindi by election, Imran chose a land mafia badmash Jaazi (and since Imran is very fond of making predictions, predicted a win for his candidate . PMLN whose previous winning MNA was dismissed because of some scandal posted a unknown middle classed dude who no one knew). The real battle was b/w Shiekh Rasheed and Shakeel Awan.

http://cache.pakistantoday.com.pk/2013/02/aleem-khan-480x238-480x238.jpg

In the end, Imran’s Jaazi did not even muster 3000 votes in a massive city like Rawalpindi and got 4th position, even some independent candidate got more than double the votes than Jaazi. The funniest thing was, Jaazi as an independent candidate secured 8000 votes in the 2008 elections LOL!

People such as myself, even if we support Imran will not vote for his candidate if they happen to be our neighborhood’s Qabza Group murderers. Also, I dont buy Imran’s statements about admitting to rigging and problems in the intra party elections because he was supporting Aleem all along because he could pump it (Aleem’s black money) into party funds.
