Re: Battle for Lahore.
Party is in its slowest gear due to internal elections. And while 80,000 party notables are campaigning for positions and nominations through the polls, the focus of the party has shifted from the outside world.
There are three things to understand:
**1: **Pakistanis are not used to seeing a party busy in its internal elections. So we don’t know exactly what it takes and how does it sound?
**2: **Due to these very elections, some of the members are leaving the party because either they are not good enough to get votes from the internal electoral college of the PTI, or they consider themselves beyond the realm of inernal party elections. It gives us an impression that the party is falling apart. The fact is that being a basic PTI member, I have a never-before opportunity of selecting the candidate I want to see running in general elections. Pakistanis never had a chance to select a candidate of their choice. They always voted for whatever they were given to vote for.
**3: **The priorities of main stream media have shifted away from the PTI. You can gauge this from the fact that while our channels report petty news from Alaska to Wellington to kill their time, the first-ever internal party elections in Pakistan go almost unreported.
