Batting and Bowling with Different Hands

There are many in world cricket that bowl right hand and bat left hand or vice versa. Even in the present Pakistani team we have three such players:

Captain himself Inzi, Rt Hand batsmen, bowls left arm off spin.
I beleive his working hand is left, as he throws with left too.

Imran Farhat: Left Hand batsmen, Rt arm leg break

Samiullah Niazi: Left Hand bowler, Rt hand batsman

Among older players i recall, Ijaz Ahmed was a left hand bowler but Rt hand bat. Curtly ambrose used to bat left hand. Ganguly bats left hand, bowls right had.

Re: Batting and Bowling with Different Hands

In the past Wasim Hasan Raja (LATE) batted left, bowled right

Re: Batting and Bowling with Different Hands

I believe they bowl with their natural hand. Inzi from what i know is left handed.. hence bowls left handed.

Someone once mentioned you can generate more power while batting if you learn to bat on your non-natural side. Is that true?

Re: Batting and Bowling with Different Hands

A good article on this topic,BTW i myself bat right handed and bowl by left hand,

Re: Batting and Bowling with Different Hands

Saleem Jafar was one of them too.

Re: Batting and Bowling with Different Hands

One thing is true for sure, its much easier to bat with other than ur natural hand than to switch hands in any other game. I bat ight handed but many a times switch to left without much problem, expet that i tend to play more cross bat.
