Batsman's Worldcup

3 Matches…
4 centuries…( 2 big one)…
Average 5.5 runs/over
Lots of sixes…

Looks like this is a batsman’s worldcup…

Where are those who laughed at me when 6 month bacK I said matches in worldcup will be high scoring one.

damn u r good dude.

hope Inzi, Younus, or Afridi or any Pak batsmen get century.

Andha, you may be right but it might be a little early to say that, we have so many matches left now, and the tide may turn. I always believe that in the day/night matches the team batting second runs into dew problems, and that causes alot of problems for the batsmen.

If the wickets keep supporting batsmen, I think India's chances will improve dramaticly. I mean wheather I like it or not they do have an explosive batting line up with stars like Sachin & Dravid. With these kind of pitches they will be a handful. But as someone said its too early to predict. Lara and Jaysuria are both good batsmen and they can score a century on any pitch against any opposition, on the other hand scoring big ones agaisnt Namibia should not count as a big deal, I mean I know its the world cup and they qualified so its not like they dont know anything but still they dont posses the fire that Akhtar, Lee or Shane Bond have. Lets wait for the Pak VS Aus encounter. That will give us a better idea if its a batting paradise or just people pilling runs against weaker oppositions.

Very true LM and Spock.
Spock...Its always been like that. This is end of season and by that times all th ejuices from wicket is out and wicket tedn to slow down and also South african curators have been trying to make bating friendly wickets for the last 2 years keeping in mind the worldcup.Who wants to see WC matches of 180 and 220 runs....

LM...You are right that India has explosive batting lineup but then they have lousiest bowling also. I think having batting friendly wicket will give Pakistan much better chance as it will compensate for incosistancy in batting lineup (Likes of Elahi and Afridi can also score in these situation)...and anyway they have good bowling lineup.....

Keeping finger crossed. more high scoring matches are on cards.

Hey I am more worried about our star studded batting. Our bowling is under rated and batting overrated. If we can score 270+, I am sure our bowlers can defend. If the opposition scores 250+, I am not sure our batsmen can defend (that is looking at their present forms).
