I dunno, I've tried several brands and they never seem as bright as non energy saving bulbs. Perhaps it's all in my mind?
Have you tried the Softone ones? There is a roundish one that is equivalent too almost 90W. It takes a min or two but it gets to the same brightness as a regular 90W bulb. I bought some for my parents house and everyone said they were good.

At my apartment in TO, utlilties are included in the rent, so sometimes I leave a light on or two when I'm moving around. However, here in LA, where the utilities
are not included in the rent, I make sure that lights are only turned on when necessary. I also unplug things like chargers, the toaster etc. because that also
causes the electricitiy bill to increase as the items plugged in are still sucking energy.

I turn lights and electronics off when not in use. what I cna do better is turn off powerstrips for stuff not in use because it is otherwise still sucking energy.
one thing that can help is using dimmers and then also using motion sensors which will turn stuff off in a room where there is no one, but then also turn light on with movement so u never have to search for the switch in the dark.
as far as bulbs go, I like GE reveral series and just cant get used to the energy saving bulbs for living areas. I have changed them for coachlights, lights in basement etc. I think i will ski to just go to led lights, more expensive but brighter lower power usage and better light in my view.
