Bathroom Manners ...

We all usually take immense care about being mannerful generally , but sometimes ignore some key manners specially when using the bathroom at someone else’s home … so out of the following which do you think is the most important Bathroom manner …

A- Leaving the toilet extremely dry even if that means using a bit of tissue to wipe the sink dry ..

B- Ensuring the toilet seat is left clean and with no skid marks , even if it means using the toilet brush to clean it if necessary ..

C- leaving the soap dry , after using it

D- Set the towel neatly in place after using it to dry hands / face

E- Puffing air freshners while leaving the toilet ( if provided )

F- Any others , please mention ..

Re: Bathroom Manners ...

Re: Bathroom Manners ...

for me B n E options r very important

Re: Bathroom Manners …

Sara, I personally dont like using the soap if it looks horrible .. personally I always dry it by dabbing a bit of tissue on the top to give it that clean look , after I have used it … At my home I have kept a soap dispenser to keep it all clean , but most desi homes still rely on the soap bars .. and the state it is in sometimes

I think for me leaving the bathroom smelling nice and dry after one comes out is an absolute must …

Re: Bathroom Manners ...

I thnk A,B,E must

Re: Bathroom Manners ...

One must always keep handgel in their bag and remember to take their bag to the toilet.

Re: Bathroom Manners …

How about posting a list of toilet manner in there ?
I have one hanging in kids bathroom since when they were babies which says:
If you sprinkle when you twinkle be a sweetie and wipe the seatie . To remind to wipe the toilet seat after them.
It is still hanging in there because we have friends with little kids who come over for dawat or socializing.
This reminder has never failed to work. :hmmm:

Re: Bathroom Manners ...

be a sweetie and do the potty

can also work with some procrastinator kids......:D

Re: Bathroom Manners ...

all this is for people who have basic manners in place. most desi's leave a flood in the bathroom, even when they are not doing wudu.

Re: Bathroom Manners …

^ thats actually very true .. I hate the fact too that when most desi’s leave the Bathroom , its literally flooded !

At my place , I have kept several hand towels , separately folded , so that when the guests use them , I can wash the used ones … once one of the guests literally cleaned the floor with the towel :smack: how do i know ? coz they proudly told me :bummer:

Re: Bathroom Manners …

Did you banish them from your parties forever ? :bummer:

Re: Bathroom Manners ...

Unfortunately I had to discard that particular hand towel , i now use it for bathroom cleaning purposes :(

I cant banish people from coming to my home , but I can only pray that they get some sense !

Re: Bathroom Manners ...

I would , if being their host costs me a perfectly good towel . Good towels are not cheap, so you know.

Re: Bathroom Manners ...

You're telling me! I recently needed to buy some new towels, bath and hand ones...SO expensives! Even with using my cousin's discount I couldnt afford to buy the ones I wanted!

Re: Bathroom Manners …

I am clever .. I invest good money in the Bath towels .. but for the face and hand towels I just buy the lot from Primark … the lesser I spend on the tiny towels the easier it is to get rid of them when any accidents happen to them , like my poor little hand towel jis ko toilet floor clean kerne ko use kia giya :crying:

Re: Bathroom Manners ...

I know , to replenish our linen closet , I had to take second mortgage on my home , after all my credit cards maxed out during the process of linen shopping. :)

Re: Bathroom Manners ...

Well I just rent cos I cant afford to buy a house, think of how many shoes I now cannot buy thanks to my towels :(
