i swear we would call atleast 2 calls a day and play prank on people - when phone bill use to come - we got pranked for sure
our main goal was to play prank of our newly wed chachi ji that chacha ji was fooling around behind her back and she use to get fooled easily.. we would come up with schemes every other day and include our phoopo as well
I remember one time we got together and hid in a room with a cell phone and called our home number. The voice that was heard from the other end of the line is as follows:
Hello? Hello?? Hello??? Pata nahin kiya masla hai logon ko, dopher kay teen bajay phone kar diya. Chain sey sonay bhi nahin detey.
Thank God for those telephones with no CID’s (Caller ID’s). Otherwise, I wouldn’t be sitting here with both of my hands.
i was very aggressive/violent kid. i used to bite ppl a lot. i remember in grade 3…my teacher hit me with her stick…she was standing rite next to my desk…i sent down and bit her on her leg…wada sara chak wada tha mein ne. she had to be vascinated with 8 injections * and i had more than my share of chak wadding that day. she tasted like chicken btw. *
Oh I forgot to mention, cycling. My mother wud assign me and my older brother to play with our younger brother and we wud leave him home with lots of toys around him and escape with our bicycles and of course wud get our dose from Ammi on our return.
Bedminton, table-tennis… gosh played a lot of that, even up till couple of years back.
And we wud spoil the whole back-yard making tracks for our little toy cars, dinkies.
oopsss we used to climb up trees in the afternoon (jub sara Pk sota hai 3 bajay dopahr ke ) , summer breaks usually, and pick up kachay aloochay and aam, and of course neighbors ke darakht bhi to apnay hee hotay hein na, wo steeling to nahin hoti na aur phir humesha gala kharab hota tha to Ammi se aur dant parti thee.
omg are u from rawalpindi? i've played all these....plus darkroom. and this game where u put a cloth in the middle of the room and u had two teams on either side trying to grab it without the rival team touching u and running to home base.
badminton at race course park, table tennis and netball (a version of basketball where u cant dribble)
Cricket, we played it from midnight until Sehree. Night matches. Darn, it was so......so......beautiful, just the thought of it would make you go with the thought of "I wish I could extend my childhood days just a little bit further". The entire abaadi of janwar and parinday would light up with these huge lights that we had placed. Chasing the ball in the dark areas of the ground, never had a better experience.
Night matches vs. modern daylight - It is a no-contest!
Shweetz, I'm from Islamabad, actually born in Lahore but most of my time spent in Isloo, which is ofcourse neighbor to Pindi :) and I can also imitate bit of pothohari/local punjabi ;)
