depends on where you live and what options are available to you and whats your budget like, anyone can really transform themselves. But everyone is unique and so you should only try to look your best self, never try to look like anyone else.
the basic makeover really means just putting a lil it more effort into ur look, u dont have to go all out makeup every single day, but just you..enhanced a bit. IMO, we can't really tell u xactly what u can do, b/c we dont know what are ur good features that u'd want to stand out and the "flaws" that u dont want to emphasize (transforming or hiding those flaws i think takes alot more work)..
I think the first step is to make sure your appearance is neat. Eyebrows should be shaped, hair trimmed and styled a bit, any excess facial hair removed, and skin moisturized and tone even.
If you don't normally wear much make up and you have smooth skin, you can start with a very light foundation or a tinted moisturizer to even your tone. You may even be able to skip the foundation if you have lovely skin. Then just start by regularly wearing some eyeliner and/or lipstick/gloss. Get comfortable with those basics first.
You could start wid pencil eye liner as you may find liquid hard, see if that suits u.
then maybe mascara and a nutural eye shadow.
is that basic enough?
I agree...I would get a smashing haircut and teach myself how to style it. Meaning, get some practice with a blow dryer, curling iron, straightener, etc. Get my eyebrows done, all facial hair gone and then work on other things.
How to apply eyeliner so it looks dramatic or light. Your foundation/powder needs to be good because a clean and fresh face is the only accessory you need! Get some good mascara and make sure your eyelashes are not clumpy when you put it on. Start small and then work your way to the more complicated things.
I wud invest in a good haircut that u can manage on u're own afterwards and don't need daily blowdrying. Next i'd prolly get subtle highlights or lowlights done to "soften" the jawline. Keep urself well groomed at all times.. neatly shaped eyebrows make a HUGE difference!
Next I'd trust a good salon and learn basic grooming from them. They can show u the right application of makeup suited for your complexion and skin type as well as colors. Get a manicure/pedicure and keep u're hands and feet in great condition!
Next work on u're clothes, play with different cuts and colors. Work on u're posture too it plays a big role!
Roll u're shoulders back, keep u're back straight dont slouch! Hold u're tummy IN =) practice these postures and make a habbit out of it! Give urself a manicure/pedicure if u can't go to a parlour..
Practice makeup on urself..see what looks nice. Begin with neutral and soft colors.
