recently there have been allegations against a former chief justice of pakistan for having his daughter killed in an honor killing.
The so-called news has spread like wildfire over the internet…however, there is nothing to prove the story …so is this a case of an innocent man being accused of a heinous crime? or is this a case of where there is smoke there is fire? are we running guilty until proven innocent campaign here or is this well deserved? what are your thoughts

it's the perception that counts in the eyes of the mortals. even if you are proven innocent in a court of law, the public still holds you guilty...case in focus is of OJ Simpson...and, sometimes, the opposite is true too...there are people who sit on death row who are considered innocent...sadly, we have to live with the perception, i'm afraid. :(

Actually I was not joking. As you know not guilty is not the same as Proven innocence. As for the Color of the jury the media spared no effort to give the not so subliminal message that colored folks cannot be unbiased. History shows the reverse has been true for the most part.

well, the Jury was asked by the notorious black defense lawyer, Johnnie Cochran, to 'send a message' and they did. in my mind, there is NOT even an iota of doubt that he committed the brutal murders of his wife and her lover. he was later found guilty in court on civil charges.
he is an arrogant man who went in with his buddy in a hotel to retrieve his repo'd belongings as if it was his...and he then claimed that since it was his so he saw it right to go in and try to commit an armed robbery...he has a criminal mind and a criminal soul...period!

There was nothing " notorious" about the " black" defence lawyer. And we are talking about the murderer trial not the recent one. While to you ( and me) he may be guilty the prosecution team made several mistakes that led to the not guilty plea. The defence lawyer did his job. Blaming him shows a lack of knowledge about hoe the law works. He would be guilty of mal practice if he did not go all out to get his client acquitted - and how yoy feel about the verdict does not change this.
As for the dig on all black jury your post is evidence the media effort to convey this message was successful. History as I stated shows reverse has been true more often than not. IMO the dig on the Color of the jury was not necessary. But it is public forum you are entitled to your views - however misguided.

To me it is simple, if the daughter is alive why is she not being presented to the media to prove the allegations wrong. It is very easy to prove the allegation wrong, why is it not being done. It is not that she has not been in media before therefore the family should have no qualms to present her to the media. It is after all a serious allegation against her father. In any other country the law enforcing authorities would have taken action to find out if the allegations were true or not. We are talking about a potential murder here.
