Why do they call this the World Series when most of the world isn’t taking part?
They should call it the Cloud Cuckoo Land Series

I don't know why most desis find it so hard to digest that why do they call it the World Series. In Japan the final round of the baseball tournament is also called the World Series, here in the US the final round of the College baseball tournament is called the College World Series, so its just a name, nothing else. Live with it, dammit!
Because when it comes to playing the world they find it hard to beat their next door neighbours a tiny nation called CUBA. And In Japan I think they call the Finals as JAPAN SERIES. And US is not world.
It's not just Baseball - Its with any sport - They call themselves the World Camps in Basketball too - But cant beat a team like Argentina. Dont even talk about NFL - They cant even compete with Australians and South Africans.

I didn't know they play football in Australia and South Africa, and also if the US has ever competed with them..interesting indeedi!

CUBA - 2 Golds, 1 Silver
US - 1 Gold and 1 Bronze
Did you know that Prior to 2000 Finals - Cuba had not lost a Single baseball Game in Olympics ?
Did you also know that Cuba has won all the Gold Medals in Pan American Games from 1971 ?
Did you also know Cuba has won Gold in 22 of the 25 World Cup Baseball Tourny they have participated including 19 in a row ??
Enuff said man - Next time you compare Cuba & US Baseball better read some thing about Cuban baseball first.
PS :- This is despite of the defections of Cuban players to the US.
