Baseball in USA

This is a continuation of the other baseball thread.
I just opened this to discuss how high baseball’s popularity is in USA.

Asif_k, you said baseball wasn’t popular, and a Bangladesh vs Kenya match in Dhaka can turnout more people.

Here are the recent attendence in the current post season games.

Anaheim Angels vs Minnesota Vikings Game 1
Attendence 55,562

Anaheim Angels vs Minnesota Vikings Game 2
Attenedence 55,990

ST Louis Rams vs San Fransisco Giants Game 1
Attendence 52,175.

So can you now back your statements up with a decent reply and source, if you can?

If you can’t, then in future please do not talk about something that you have no knowledge off. There are 2 people that I hate in this world, people who lie and people who open their mouth when they shouldn’t.

I just read the posts in the other thread. I guess my questions from another thread were answered!..here is what I posted

Baseball

just a correction... Its Minnesota Twins, not vikings,

It's a great game to watch, specially if Girls play :D

and its St. Louis Cardinals, not Rams....some baseball fan you are!

abay yaar pakistanee, what i can say, you got me there, i have been watching too many baseball and football matches these days, I just go mixed up, thanks for the correction.

Umair123 - First time it may be a mistake but twice ?? It just shows us how Popular Game of Baseball is :hehe: that you cant even remember the names of the teams.
Btw Did you get to check the link on the other thread ??

Did you see the Yankee Stadium attendence sheet in last 30 years..also When you are quoting the attendence figures - Please post the links as well.

Also Please do check out the following links :- http://www.dfw.com/mld/kansascity/sports/3880623.htm

Then you must be hating yourself most.

The articles you provided above are just personal view of the author, I need the overall stats, which you provided in the other thread, which shows almost the same numbers as I have shown on the top.
If you think averaging 40,000 people per game is lower than the Bangladesh vs Kenya game in Dhaka.

So can you provide a Bangladesh vs Kenya match in Dhaka, with people of 40,000+ as you mentioned before.

Its America's national past time. Enuff said :)

True!
But some people don't just understand, their personal ego is always in front of right and wrong.

BTW-Asif_k I'm still waiting for your respnse. Can you back your statements by showing me which match between Bangladesh and Kenya can turnup more crowd than an average baseball game. :)

Forget about Bangladesh & Kenya - They have more attendece in a club match

"Cricket is second only to football in popularity in Bangladesh. Even club matches can attract crowds of up to 40,000. "

Now I am expecting you to parrot a demand for Bangladesh Vs. Kenya crowd figure because you will certainly think that crowd in the Bangladesh & Kenya match will be less than that in a Club match. :hehe:

Where did this club thing come in.
You directly said a Bangladesh vs Kenya match can attract more crowd than a typical baseball game in USA.
I presesnted you with my figures which shows an average baseball game attracts an average of 40,000 people. Now can you present a Bangladesh vs Kenya match in Dhaka which shows an average attendence of 40,000+.
Lets not get into single matches, cricket holds alot of 100,000 crowd specially in India but lets talk about average cricket games in the whole world. Can you find a place where an average game for the past decade has crowd of 40,000 people.
So far you have brought articles which has expressed personal views of one person and not the entire group of people.
So can you bring some stats to show me If an average cricket match around the world can attract more than 40,000 people per game let alone a Bangladesh vs Kenya match in Dhaka. :)

OK can you show me a proof where even a single cricket club match in Bangladesh attracts more than 40,000 people, let alone an average tally of cricket in Bangladesh.

Bringing articles aren't doing anything, bring some numbers.

A Bangladesh-Kenya match in Dhaka or Eden Gardens will draw more crowd than Yankee stadium has ever managed in its history in one single match
[/quote]

This is what you said in the other thread, can you support your statement with numbers, no articles, just numbers! :)

You provided for Twins & Cardinals - I want data for Vikings and Rams

Ok now you are trying to divert attention from the real topic being discussed, you said a Bangladesh vs Kenya game in Dhaka can have more attendence than an average baseball game, can you support your argument ?

Asif_k, I’m waiting, can you support your arguement ? :hehe: :rotfl: :dixsi: :nono:

Am I ?? You dont even know the Teams names ( I bet you dont know the names of all the players of Yankees/Twins/Giants/angels) and you call the game Popular ??
You are doing the nit picking by asking for avg. attendence in Cricket matches knowing very well that they dont keep attendence records for cricket matches. You refused to believe the report of BBC. Here is another one :-

*"A *crowd of 50,000 turned up at the Banglabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka, ** to watch Bangladesh’s initiation into Test cricket. And they were not "
That was in a test match vs. India. rediff.com: cricket channel - Bangladesh claim day 1 honours

“Asia XI beat Rest of the World XI by a single run in a scintillating climax.Bangladeshi cricketers did not play in the match, but what of it: a sell-out crowd of over 50,000 turned up to watch the game. Tickets sold out on the day counters opened”

http://www.dawn.com/2000/05/01/spt4.htm (This is where no-one from their country was even playing)

Can you support your Argument ?? If yes then please post the data for Vikings vs. Angels Game pr Rams vs. Giants Game

:hehe:
