Pir Ji, once again you have shown that you have no idea of what you are talking about...No one cares about the rangers in Texas ...its the Astros...this is not like Cowboys and Texans deal. If you would have argued about that I would have agreed with you, lets see when was the last time the lovable losers made it to the playoffs and to LCS in back to back years...Go do your research and come back to us.
P.S. One should not talk about regional sports if one has no clue of the makeup of the fan base...let me make it clear ...Rangers are a team that no one cares about either in Texas or elsewhere.
talk about masterful pitching, Roy Oswalt was awesome. He carried the no hitter into the fifth. He really shut down those so called big phat bats of Cardinals. He made the Gorilla (I have not been caught using Steroids yet) Albert Pujols look silly while trying to catch up to his fast balls.
Pir Ji, and you think people in texas care what happens in IL....fat chance....BTW you do care because that is where the President is from ...if I am not mistaken you have mentioned on more than one occasion about being involved in fundraising for some big shot Republicans....Anyway, enjoy the ass whopping Astros are about to put up on the White Sox.
What a difference day makes. Kaleem bhai, it must be a Texas thing... Pujols and Steriods? Puhleessee. :D
Congrats btw. I was rooting for Roy to win the MVP. Pitcher never gets love and I was glad to see him win the MVP award. White Sox starters should have won the MVP award too. And I am sad to learned that no cares about Rangers in Texas. I like the team 'cause they have collectively nice group of lads. They just need consistent starting pitchers to be reckon with in American League.
How many games did Sox sold out this season? I think everyone in Chicago jumped on the bangwagon when Sox started to win more games than anyone would have expected. I bet no guru in Baseball would have predicted in the beginning of the season that the World Series 2005 will be between White Sox vs. Astros. I’d have laughed out loud.
…and Cubs will always be Chicago’s team. It doesn’t matter how many World Series Sox wins…Cubbie faithfull will always booked season tickets in pre-season 'cause you just can’t ignore Wrigley Field and the Ivy that grows there…
talha u and I are saying the same thing, soz get ignored in chi-town like a big dog. its only now that the city is behind them otherwise they are always the "other" team in the city.
hey I dont want ppl in texas cariung about what happens in illinois, i mean even i dont care what happens in illinois, its only Chicago that I am concerned with. and as far as my involvement with the GOP, it had less to do with Texas and more to do with GOP, the candidate could have been from alaska as far as I am concerned.
astros can win in straight games, or sox can, i dont care either way. my only stake is that if sox win, i will prolly go to the party downtown..had i been in houston, i would have wanted astros to win for the same reason
I heard on Mike & Mike in the morning about Ozzie’s comments regarding how much impact White Sox will bring into the city by winning WS this year. And this is completely taken from Mike & Mike - just correct me if I stated wrong. They were discusing about Ozzie’s comments if his boys win this year - it’s value will be more higher, bigger than those championships won by MJ, Pippen and the Bulls. Now being from Chicago, do you agree or disagree with Ozzie?
Im not from Chicago but I can tell u this, the six championships that Chicago Bulls won in 90s with MJ during Phil Jackson cant be compared to Whitesox going to WS or eventually winning one. MJ, in my opinion is the greatest b-baller to walk the planet. In the salary-cap era of todays NBA that double three-peat by those Bulls is pretty much impossible to achieve.
Pir G was not in Chicago during this championships era and cant get on that bandwagon. The championship team was dismanteled in summer of 1998.
This has to be the worst officiated playoffs ever. What the eff was that home plate umpire smoking? No wonder Chicgo Whitesox have not lost...they play with home plate umpire as the 10th man. Eff the blue for providing extra at bats in all games of the post season for Chiacago.
White Sox have gotten some lucky calls in this postseason but damn have they taken advantage of them.
That grand slam by Konerko was possibly biggest baseball "bliss" moment for any ChiSox fan. That shot of him raising his fist running to first with the crowd behind him going bananas could sell a ton of posters.
Jenks was doing so well and then got shook up a little. Vizcaino really proved the announcers wrong. First pitch and - thok - right to left field. Great slide by Burke.
It's fitting that Podsednik would win Chicago the game - but who could have predicted a HR after he went 500 ABs in the regular season without one. You could see one Sox player in the dugout (Crede I believe) saying "No way!" when Scotty made contact.
The Astros are only as good as their pitching. And when Clemens, Pettitite and Oswalt have back to back to back bad nights, you really cannot expect too much from this team. They were never a good team with RISP, but they could rely on their pitching to hold teams to 2-3 runs. 5 runs in 1 inning was always going to be an uphill battle.
That being said it was an absolute embarassment the way Houston played after they tied the game. Taveras not squeezing in the 9th to get Burke home was the dumbest no-call of the game. They've done it all year long, did they expect Taveras to hit the ball past the ****ing infield? 3 tough losses for the Astros, congrats to the White Sox who have come up with big plays in the playoffs.
