This film had Bharat Bhushan and Madhubala in the leads and is known for the beautiful compositions.Lyrics by Sahir and Shakil Badayuni and music by Roshan(Grand father of Hrithik Roshan).It had some of the best Quawallis incl:Na to caravan ki talash hai na to humsafar ki talash hai,
Mere shauke khana talash ko ik rahgujar ki lalash hai.
And songs like:
1.Jindagi bhar nahin bhulegi wo barsat ki raat,ek anjaan hasina se mulaqat ki raat.
2.Maine shayad tumhe pehle bhi kahin dekha hai
It was a musical film,best known for its musical numbers than for acting or story.
Yeap nice music and a great hit.
All the songs were wonderful.

I haven’t seen the film–it is hard to get copies of these old b & w movies here but I know some of the songs and they are wonderful. Also, I love to see any film with Madhubala in it. Kya cheez thee woh..dilruba, jaanpaara, mehjabeen…pareechihra…!!!

talking of roshan, i remember rd burman's interview. apparently once roshan asked him 'which tune 'rahen na rahen ham' is based on?' after a little pause, roshan told rd that he took sachindev burman's 'thandi hawaayen, laharake aaye..' and twisted it a bit, came with 'rahen na rahen hum'. plagiarism ho to aisa!
another song of roshan i like very much is hamanta's 'chupa lo yun dil me pyar mera'.
wah the great melody movie... seen that long time back... all time great qaqallis like Ishq Ishq he and Karwan ki talash he.. Rafi was at his best with manaday...
