Barack Obama tries to win Indian American votes with Bollywood
Who knew Obama was such a good showman? First he whipped Oprah out of his sleeve. Next up? Lip synching, Bollywood-style, and showing off his dance moves against a montage of pink elephants in a new video called “Barack OBollywood.” What’s more, the Indian press approves of the clip that’s been circulating the Web this past week, with one report calling it: “[A] last ditch effort to woo the influential Indian American community,” and praising the presidential hopeful’s rendition of the Hindi hits: “Aaja Aaja Aaja Aaja Aaja, Chori chori ham dono pyaar karenge, and Maahiya, Maahiya, jaldi se le jaa Maahiya Maahiya Maahiya doli mein le ja sun mahiya.”
Campaign song, perhaps? At least he can’t do worse than Hill’s Celine Dion selection.
