How many Bars are there in Punjab? How many come into Pakistan after partition?
Re: Bar in Punjab?
Sandal was the name of Grandfather of Dulla Bhatti... There is a bar near jhang District which is named after Dullah bhatti's Grandfather Sandal, as Sandal bar. It is thought that, jhang district belongs to sandal, the granfather of dulla bhatti.
Between north west india (indian punjab) and north east pakistan (pakistani punjbab) , there are hundreds of bars. Becz manay forests at the time of independence are now converted into cities like Amartasar, jahalandar, Lailalpur (faisalabad) , sheikhupura E.t.c. We can not count.. @muqawwee123

sort of Islands?
Not an island, an area demarcated by rivers...I think it has more to do with forests though (bar)...

what do you mean by demarcated? like area where there was river at sometime and than it become dry. like HaakRa?
Re: Bar in Punjab?
No like the area between Ravi and Chenab like Prince Jall mentioned above. In olden times the territories were defined with respect to rivers. The people living between two rivers usually speak the same languages and have same cultures as well. If you see the rivers of Punjab, you can see distinctly the areas where Punjabi is spoken and others where Seraiki is the main language.
