Re: Banquet Halls in Mississauga
dont go to sagaan..i repeat: dont go to sagaan....they sucked at my brothers wedding....wrong food, shoddy dj, we requested to open up the two bars (they only opened one), we requested to have a mic and those speaker box thingy for the stage (they didnt do it), for the slideshow the hall had technical difficulties with their equipment.....so bottom line: dont go to sagaan...
Re: Banquet Halls in Mississauga
Hall with excellent food is Maple Banquet Hall, but the hall is small and not that great looking compared to Chandni/Woodbine .... Chandni/Woodbine look beautiful but the food is crap. I got food poisoning at Woodbine Banquet Hall when I went there for a wedding.
Bombay Palace is a pretty good balance, a hall that looks good with mediocre food ... but food wise alone, I like Maple.
Taj is crap, and I'm not too keen on Candles either. There aren't too many Pakistani owned halls. Sardarjis don't know how to make salan or curries like we make it which is why a lot of us are never satisifed with the food. I recently went to a wedding at La Suhaag, and again, the food was crap.
Re: Banquet Halls in Mississauga
There is a ROSE banquet hall somewhere in airport and derry area. It looks really nice from outside. Have you heard of it mehnaz?
Re: Banquet Halls in Mississauga
Yeah, i've driven by it loads of times ... haven't had a chance to go in it yet. It looks nice. Too bad its located in an industrial area.
There is also Le Jardin and The Garden ... both gora places I believe, but you can cater the food ... same with Mississauga Convention Centre.
I am not a fan of Pearson Banquet Hall either.
Re: Banquet Halls in Mississauga
we had my other bro's wedding at woodbine 2 years ago, and some guests also had food poisoning the next day...hmmm..somethign fishy going on there...
My family used to go to Taj all the time for smaller weddings and functions..ever since they changed ownership, we stopped going...now for smaller stuff we usually end up going to Forum Banquet Hall.
yeah the men in our family is also picky about salans...especially the gosht...my dad had to make sure that the gosht is from a reputable meat place, and usually him or my grandfather have to be at the hall when they cook the gosht..it just has to be perfect...lol
really? i went to a valima at La Suhaag over the summer, and they had pretty good food..especially their appetizers...
Re: Banquet Halls in Mississauga
Le Jardin is right by my mom's house..my brother wanted that hall for his wedding so he could travel by horse and carriage to the hall, but again, the problem was with food and who to cater it by (since it was an gora hall)...
missississauga convention centre is a nice hall...food was okay...that was the hall where we had that sit-down dinner..didntl ike that concept at all...
princess banquet hall by jane and hwy 7 is a nice hall...havent been there myself though...
Re: Banquet Halls in Mississauga
Shaheen is a really good caterer. She has these massive ovens in her home where she does her cooking .... she takes huge orders. If anybody wants to go with a gora hall, I highly recommend her as your caterer.
Re: Banquet Halls in Mississauga
Hi ,

Thanks again,
Sim
