Maybe by visiting this Blessed Place they may cleanse themselves of these ‘other kinds of idolataries’!

that’s one approach to the problem. this is like giving ‘benefit of doubt’ to such idolaters. what if there ain’t any doubts regarding their being idolaters of another kind?
