Banned Ribery loses final appeal

**Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery is set to miss the Champions League final on 22 May after being banned for three games.**The midfielder missed Tuesday’s 3-0 semi-final, second leg victory over Lyon after being sent off in the first tie in Germany, which Bayern won 1-0.

Bayern had hoped Uefa would restrict the Frenchman’s ban to one match.

His club have three days to launch an appeal against his suspension for the final, which will be against either Barcelona or Inter Milan in Madrid

The ban also covers the first European match next season.

Ribery was shown a straight red card by Italian referee Roberto Rosetti in the 37th minute for a tackle on Lyon’s Lisandro Lopez at the Allainz Arena. This article is from the BBC News website. © British Broadcasting Corporation, The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.
