Banned foods

What are some dishes that are just banned in your home? cz u suck at making it or someone wont let you ever make it :naraz:

For me its: aloo baingan (which is fine cz i hate eggplant) and after some months…bhindiyan :frowning:
Actually pretty much every “new” thing i want to try I dont get much encouragement.
I wish I had used the time I was alone to master all these dishes :o

Let’s add to the list: rotisserie chicken
Tandoori chicken
onion rings
cheesecake
any kind of cake
any kind of cookies
Biryani

basically anything thats “new” is off limits. =/

Karelay
Loki Bhujiya

Re: Banned foods

My husband is not very fond of vegetables and although they are not banned but I am too lazy to make them just for myself. So it’s been ages since I brought baingan, shaljum, teenday, tori, kaddu etc etc  I miss my veggies. :frowning:

Re: Banned foods

methi...Mr CO hates it with a passion, so I never cook aalu/methi which I love.

Re: Banned foods

Bhindi - its pretty much the only veg my hubby doesn't enjoy though will eat it. But that's ok as he enjoys everything else.

Re: Banned foods

i'm in the same boat as masi... I have to go over to my mothers or inlaws to eat veggies... veggies of any kind never come into my home...I only make them on dawats ... everyone will load their plates with achaari bhaingan ...but my hubby doesn't even touch them...:( ....

Stuff I eat at my mothers that he doesn't like I can't cook either...... He tells me no anytime I bring up a new dish.. I save all my new dishes to try out on dawats ...then he goes lattooo... and will ask me to make them again and again... men go figure

Re: Banned foods

^ haha.... dudes are funny, mine says i am not good at making anything new...but the few dishes i am good at...it took practice didnt it?
In our first few months of living together he ate practically EVERYTHING i made. Not no mo. :(

Re: Banned foods

for my home,it has to be gajar ka halwa...he does not like the one I make and i just love the one that I make...I wanted to make it on eid but he didnt let me and then we had this bigg fight in ukrops..and no i didnt make it then
other then this, bhindi is something he does not eat so i dont cook it

Gobhi :hinna:

Re: Banned foods

Zucchini/Thori. My hubby hates it with a passion and I absolutely love Thorian ka salen. So i normally just steam/saute some for myself with meat or make a big vegetabe bake with zuccini in it & i eat the zuccini from it :) He makes his own green bean and other weird veggie combos.

Re: Banned foods

lobia ki red daal and chawal :frowning:

Re: Banned foods

lol...i thought i was the only one who's not allowed to try anything "big" or "new"...its funny cuz i usually make the really difficult dishes when he's not home and they turn out so good but i suck at the basics like chicken karhai or even ommelette :(

Re: Banned foods
