Bangladesh v SA, 2nd Test, Chittagong

South Africa 405/0 on the first day.

Smith 223 nout out
McKenzie not out 169

Nine runs short of breaking the world record partnership for the first wicket.

Re: Bangladesh v SA, 2nd Test, Chittagong

Bangladesh's Gillespie (Mohammad Sharif - Fastest Ball @ 127.2) is benched. Had he been included, South Africa would have easily folded for Bangladesh to set a big total.

No pressure, Tamim Iqbal is going to knock those runs off.

Re: Bangladesh v SA, 2nd Test, Chittagong

my god, 405 for no loss...
smith is one of my favorite players, so good to see him get a double
never heard of mckenzie, but must be very talented, not easy to stay out there for so long and get big runs, doesnt matter what the team is

Re: Bangladesh v SA, 2nd Test, Chittagong

Mckenzie was out of Saffies squad for a very long period of time. Once he was a regular member. I remember once Saffies were playing in Australia and Mckenzie was fielding at the boundary. While trying to stop a ball at the boundary his pants came off.

Re: Bangladesh v SA, 2nd Test, Chittagong

A good 'help yourself' day for SA it seems!

Re: Bangladesh v SA, 2nd Test, Chittagong

Another defeat by an innings awaits Bangladesh. They need 523 runs for 17 wickets to avoid innings defeat. Can they do it? :smokin:

Re: Bangladesh v SA, 2nd Test, Chittagong

Easy victory for South Africa.

Smith and McKenzie now hold the world record total for an opening pair.

Smith has been partner in 4 of the 12 higest opening pair totals in test cricket.
