*Bangladesh deserve their Test status -: Ponting*

Ricky Ponting: A stylish batsman of this era, no doubt whenever there will be a top batsman of the world his name will always find his way right up there with the elite class, if only batting was the way to evaluate cricketer’s character then he is a top class super star but certainly thats not the way! In short he is a fat lying bully! His ego has super seeded him; this is the excerpt of his latest interview:

*Ponting said: “There is a little bit of luck involved in the one-day game. But, I don’t envisage a repeat performance.”
*if this is the case then Australia is the luckiest team ever!!!
*
P.S: this has nothing to do with the caffine I gulp nor that I am awake past 2 am.

here is the a.k.a Damage control…

*As they say " Hindsight is always better than foresight" unfortunately not true for Ponting.

Re: Bangladesh deserve their Test status -: Ponting

These latest comments are an abrupt about-turn from what he said in February. Back then he told London's Daily Telegraph,"What I would not have is the minnow nations in the World Cup and the Champions Trophy, and I would not have Bangladesh and Zimbabwe playing Tests at present." As a result of these words, Cricket Australia had to issue a statement in support of Bangladesh playing Test cricket.

I wonder what happened since Feb 17 which made him change his thinking and views about Bangladesh? Probably BD's impressive 4-0 victory over Kenya:D

Re: Bangladesh deserve their Test status -: Ponting

Ponting is in BD...you have to understand.

Re: Bangladesh deserve their Test status -: Ponting

yeah after 60-70 years I guess the country of mujra bahini has finally learnt to play a turning ball :D

Re: Bangladesh deserve their Test status -: Ponting

I don't believe that is the sole reason of his statement.

Re: Bangladesh deserve their Test status -: Ponting

1) - "I think I was speaking from an ideal world point of view."

An ideal point of view? An ideal point of view? Is this some sort of political elections, with Bush and Ponting representing their own countries as two main super-powers in the world? Team USA must be very proud.

2) "We just like to think that Bangladesh will keep improving, that their cricket will keep improving and the infrastructure and facilities here in this country will keep improving and that will give them the best chance of being a good international team in the future."

And then...

"There is a little bit of luck involved in the one-day game. But, I don't envisage a repeat performance."

Talk about representing your country and being a sports player, all at once. I am speechless.

Re: Bangladesh deserve their Test status -: Ponting

He has to be the most contradictory sports-figure I know. I mean, there's definetley more controversial athletes out there, but this guy contradicts himself month after month. It's somewhat laughable actually.

As for Bangladesh- can't blame the white boy for being bitter, but Bangladesh is definetley an up-and-comer in the next decade. Their U-19 looks more promising than Australia in my opinion.

I hope Australia gets hustled :).

Re: Bangladesh deserve their Test status -: Ponting

We hope the same too, my friend. We hope the same too. :)

Re: Bangladesh deserve their Test status -: Ponting

sure got their behinds kicked after day 1.....355/5....i don't remember the last team that did that....

Re: Bangladesh deserve their Test status -: Ponting

Ricky is lucky he made his statement about bangladesh being appropriate for Test Cricket in time...Nahin to he really would have had to endure "foot in mouth"...

But great job by Bangladesh to score so well against Aus atleast on the first day...:D

Re: Bangladesh deserve their Test status -: Ponting

those bangali's have some serious up and comers.

damn!

Re: Bangladesh deserve their Test status -: Ponting

Ponting must've foreseen this. He is the present-day Nostradamus.
