Ready to see Ryan Phillippe grab a camera and enter post-Apartheid South Africa?
After premiering at TIFF last year, documentarian Steven Silver’s first theatrical feature – ‘The Bang Bang Club’](The Bang Bang Club (2011) - Movie | Moviefone) – is gearing up for release on April 22, and now Apple has released a trailer (watch it after the jump). Starring Phillippe, Malin Akerman and Taylor Kitsch, the film looks into a group of real-life, hard-core photojournalists – Kevin Carter, Greg Marinovich, Ken Oosterbroek and Joao Silva – who captured the violence erupting in South Africa between 1990 and 1994.
Even if you’re not familiar with them by name, you’ve likely seen their images. Marinovich (Phillippe) won a Pulitzer for a series of photos during that period, including one of a man on fire, while Carter won a Pulitzer for the image of the starving Sudanese girl being stalked by a vulture.
