I have played it only once and sucked at it! Anyone else who has played this game and know all the rules as well as the tactics?

I have only played it once (or twice maybe) and wasn’t any good at it. Its a game of reflexes and team work!

Bander (Punjabi) = Bender (Urdu) = Monkey (English).
Killa (Punjabi) = Keel (Urdu) = ???

Anyway, in rural Punjab, a killa is used to tie up the livestock. Mujh (Bhainsain) are tied up with sungals (shackles) which vary in size according to the size of the livestock. Smaller farm animals, like a *Laila *(goat) is sometimes tied up to the Killa using a cotton string or something similar.

This game is usually played by a group of 4 or more children. First they do the pugun pugayee(if you don’t know what it is, please let me know). So, the one who loses the pugun pugayee becomes the Bander! He has to hold the shackle or a rope tied up to the Killa & go as far out as he can to make a circle with his foot. Then everyone else put their *chapliyaan *(shoes) right by the Killa.

Now, the objective of every team member is to get their own pair of chapliyaan out of the circle while not getting caught.

In other words if the Bander touches you while you steal your chaplee then you in turn become the bander

& the game starts all over again. If the Bander can’t get hold of anyone & everyone gets away with their pair of chapliyaan, then he is regarded as a true *Bander *(loser).

what do you mean make a circle with a rassi around the killa, does one end of the rope go around the killa and the other in the bander's hand?

We usually use to play in our play ground/backyard etc in paksitan. Purey ghar key jotey jama kar letey they..

but isnt its like this: one person is holding dupata/rasi while standing in the middle and one is running around. Going in a circle you can say?
