Banana Bread Recipe Needed

I’m trying to find a really good banana bread recipe…any suggestions??

This is my husband's recipe..I've made it several times and it's great. I also add cinnamon and nutmeg..about 1/2tsp-tsp...depending on how many loafs i'm making.

I also take sugar/brownsugar and cinnamon and put it on the bottom of the pan..so that when you flip the banana bread after it's made..it's got a slightly crunchy sugar layer on top..

1 cup sugar
1 cup (2 medium) mashed bananas
1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1/2 cup nuts
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

  1. heat oven to 350
  2. grease loaf pan.
  3. in large bowl blend first 6 ingredients; beat 1 min.
  4. stir in remaining ingredients
  5. bake 50-60 mins
  6. cool 5 mins and remove from pan.

You can also freeze this :)

ingredients

2 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
2 eggs
3 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 1/8 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 1/2 c. bananas, mashed
1 c. pecans, chopped
1/4 to 1/2 c. milk, if needed to moisten bread

method

Cream butter, add sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time. Sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla and bananas and nuts. Bake in loaf pans (2 big pans or 4 small loaf pans). Bake at 350 degrees. When cake is done, cake will turn loose from side of pans.

*NOTE: 1/4 to 1/2 cup milk may be used if needed so bread will be moist. *

Amelie, I tried your recipe. This was my first time making any kind of banana bread and it turned out pretty good. THe only changed i made was to use equal instead of sugar and 1% milk for the amount of milk recipe asks for. It could be a little more moist, but overall pretty good. THanks for sharing it with us :)

add honey instead of all sugar. turns out moist.

take a banana and some bread, mash the banana and put it on the bread. n you will get, banana bread.

I have eaten banana bread made from Splenda and it so DOES NOT taste good!
