Its very much surprising and sad. the land where Mrs Bhutto was a head of the country is now banning even women voting.

TIMERGARA: Speakers at an all parties’ conference here Sunday said that according to the specific environment in Dir Upper they had decided to ban women participation in the local bodies polls. The decision was accepted to all the population of the districts particularly women lot, but some NGOs and vested interest organisations were highlighting the issue for their personal gains.

Representative from almost all the political parties were of the view that female representation in local governments elections was not an issue but some vested interest elements were using it for their vested interests.

The seminar among others was addressed by provincial secretary general of MMA, Senator Maulana Gul Nasib Khan, district president of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian, Malik Azmat Khan, district president of People’s Party Sherpao, Bakht Baidar Khan, provincial joint secretary of ANP, Hussain Shah Yousafzai, district president of Jamaat-e-Islami Sultanatyar, general secretary JI Fazal Mahmood, district organiser of PML-Q Malik Hashim Khan, district senior vice-president JUI-F, Maulana Gul Rahim, provincial leader of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Shahab Khan, general secretary of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Fakhruz Zaman Advocate president Gujar Qaumi Movement NWFP, Haji Zarin and representative of various non-governmental organisations.

Representatives of PPP, PML -Q and PTI disowned the agreement reached among various political parties to ban female participation in LG polls. However, they said the specific environment of Dir Upper was not favourable for women to take part in political process. The ladies themselves don’t want to come out of their houses for balloting, they added.:rolleyes: (who they are kidding)

Not an issue for whom? Men who are devoted to treating their women like draft animals so they can sit around in a giant circle-jerk all day and pound thier chests and brag endlessly about the 3 things they have done in their pathetic little lives... or the women who do all the work and actually run the society? Yeah, this is disturbing.
