Ban Indian channels and films

Indian channels via cable or satellite and films should be banned in
Pakistan. All Pakistanis should boycott the various means of Indian
media. The damage done to Pakistanis with Indian channels and films
is infinite:

  • They promote Indian/Hindu culture, language, and values

  • They promote Indian political propaganda against Pakistan/Muslims

  • They promote indecency, sex, violence, and vulgarity

The result is:

  • The destruction of the Pakistan’s media (film/tv/etc) industry, affecting
    the local economy

  • Cultural invasion from India, and destruction of local cultures and
    values

  • Wasting of precious time of the Pakistanis with garbage

  • And then, Pakistanis are brainwashed with:

— Hindu/Indian culture

— Pro-India and anti-Pakistan views

— Un-Islamic and anti-Islamic values

Some Pakistanis are against any ban or boycott with the argument of
freedom of media/expression/globalization. But what they dont realize
is that some time protectionism is the only choice when national
interests are at risk. Let us face it, Indian media is extremely
powerful and well established, and there is no way that Pakistan can
compete fairly with them in a free environment. In an era when
military wars are becoming insignificant, media is the new potent
weapon utilized by the enemy for their benefit. Let us act before its too late.

:k:

Educate the people and they should decide. Banning would not help. Their imaan should be strong that they themselves reject anything unIslamic. Bannning may have an opposite effect.

:rotfl:

If you visit “IndoPak” stores (mostly owned by Pakistanis) in the US and UK, you find it loaded with CDS and Videos of Indian movies. Most of the Indian shows abroad have a lot of Pakistanis buying tickets.

The Pakistanis have voted with their feet and $$$ as to what they want to see. Also, I have seen some Punjabi movies from Pakistan and if you want to talk about obscenity and vulgarity…:hehe:

Indian media is 'vulgar and obscene' and European and American is not! wake up and smell the coffee! I was in pakistan last year in the summer, and at around 9.30 in the morning I was watching TV, an American channel and what do u think they aired 'Tom & Jerry'? no an english film with full nudity and sexual activity but no thats ok because they are goras and we want a gora passport! Be real!

Someone please shoot this idiot.

Re: Ban Indian channels and films

He has a point. Alot of Pakistanis minds are filled with self-hating propaganda.

Alot of them beleive that India is "shinning, secular" when they've killed so many minorities such as Gujrat, Khalistan. Cultural invasion and self hatred is indeed a threat to Pakistani society.

However, you should know of the economic setbacks from all this.

-From what I know most bollywood films you get in Pakistan are pirated so Indian companies don't make any profit from it all the profits go to local Pakistani markets.

-Banning bollywood completely would be an economic setback for the country.

So in my opinion we should censor bollywood films, not ban them completely. Take the film Gandhi for example. It shows a peaceloving man and that Pakistan and India were "one country" That movie doesn't display the fact that India was only created in 47 out of various indepdent countries united by the British. (Alot of them against their will may I add)

but that's not wha tthe movie showed at all. it showed the people of south asia were "united" and that Pakistan all of a sudden broke away when it was never a part of "india"

The movie obviously was biased one-sided propaganda and movies like that should have no place in Pakistani society.

That's my stand on this issue

Re: Ban Indian channels and films
