During summer 2000 I had tha chance to visit this mervellous province.
Ihoperto came back over there in September 2001 but the notorious
events prevented me to do so.
Now somebody is in the position to tell me if it is still possible or not to
obtain the relevant permits to visit the area north of Khaplu/Hushe?

Although I am not there now, but as far as I know there hasnt been a change in anything related to tourism. I know people who visited skardu and gilgit areas this summer, they didnt have any problems.
You can try emailing people at www.tourism.gov.pk and see if you get a reply.
