Re: Balochistan very significant for US, says Munter

Maybe the woes of Balochistan are due to its significance to the Americans

Re: Balochistan very significant for US, says Munter

Please. We don't want significance. Go away.

Baloch and Sindhis demand for the US intervention in Balochistan

The Baloch and Sindhi communities in the UK demanded physical intervention from the international community in the wake of continued atrocities being committed by the Pakistani military in Balochistan.According to reports, a rally organized by Baloch Human Right Council (UK), Balochistan Liberation Organization, and World Sindhi Congress was held in front of the US Embassy in London on July 31, 2011.
The protest was aimed to draw the attention of the international community in general and the US government in particular towards the crimes against humanity in Balochistan. The Baloch leader Nawabzada Meer Hayrbiar was also present in the gathering.
Speakers expressed their solidarity with families affected by the inhuman actions of the Government in Sindh and Balochistan. They demanded immediate stoppage of every kind of aid to Pakistan from the US and its allies as it is being used to crush the Baloch and Sindhi national resistance against subjugation and exploitation. Speakers included Abdullah Baloch, Jamshed Amiri, Kader Jatoi, Faiz Baluch, Mehrab Sarjoi, Zahed Baloch, Mansoor Baloch, Rahim Bandovi, Dr. Lakhu Luhana and Samad Baloch.
A letter will be sent to President Obama urging him for immediate action against Pakistani military establishment and urging him to use the US influence for the trial of Pakistani military officials in the International Criminal Court for the crimes committed against humanity in Balochistan.
Before that , Human Rights Watch stressed Pakistan’s government to end widespread disappearances of suspected militants and activists by the military, intelligence agencies, and the paramilitary Frontier Corps in the southwestern province of Balochistan, but this demand was rejected by Pakistan Army.

Balochistan to observe 11 August as Independence Day and 14 August as a black day

Baloch like minded parties who believe in Independence of Balochistan have announced that the Baloch Nation will observe 11 August as Balochistan Independence Day and 14 August as a black day. BNF (Combination of all Baloch parties that are demanding for Independence) has appealed the Baluch Nation to hoist the flag of Azaad Baloch on their houses, cars and offices on 11 August to observe Baluchistan’s Independence Day.

Balochistan was declared as an Independent sovereign state on this day and we will continue to observe this day as our National Day said the Baloch patriot parties. Baloch are of the view that they have got nothing to do with Pakistan’s Independence Day which is 14 August and this day is a black day for the people of Balochistan. On this day a country in the name of (Pakistan?) came into being that later occupied the sovereign state of Balochistan on 27 March 1948. Since the illegal occupation of their land Baloch have been struggling against the forced annexation of their country.

Baloch aslo believe that Britain as a former protectorate of Balochistan has a moral responsibility to raise the issue of Baluchistan’s illegal occupation on international level. Article 7 of 6 December 1841 agreement between the British government and Mir Nasir Khan the ruler of Balochistan runs as follows in case of any attack on Mir Nasir Khan by an open enemy, or of a difference arising between him and any foreign power, the British government will afford him assistance or good offices, as it may be judge to be necessary or proper, for the maintenance of his rights

Baloch exiled leaders Hyrbyair Marri and Khan of Kalat Suleiman Dawood has also requested the Baloch nation that they (Baloch) should observe 11 August as the Independence Day and 14 August as a Black Day. It must be noted that Hyrbyair Marri on 19 July in a public meeting (Balochistan Marty Day) had suggested that on 11 August we should celebrate as Balochistan Independence Day. Thereafter Baloch activists in UK mainly in London have decided to organise a protest and a public meeting on 11 August to commemorate Balochistan Independence Day. On this day the wider world especially UN, EU and other International democracies will be reminded of their moral responsibilities and will be asked to help the Baluch to raise their voice against the illegal occupation of their country and the ongoing slow motion genocide of Baloch people.

Similarly like minded Baloch friends in Sweden has also announced to protest on 11 August to bring the plight of Baloch nation to the world’s attention. Baloch in Sweden will also be demanding International intervention in Balochistan and an end to Pakistani and Iranian atrocities against Baloch nation.

After the announcement of these protest in abroad and in Balochistan Pakistani Intelligence agencies and some confused writers like Ahamd Qurashi are spreading rumours that Baloch are going to announce their Independence on this day, hence justifying the arrest, torture and humiliation of innocent unarmed Baloch civilians.
