We have news from Kashmir. But the real theatre is Balochistan. Why are sentiments running high there?
Who are the real players and why?

Re: Balochistan a flashpoint?
Kashmir is a disputed region between two international nations.
Balochistan is an internal issue.
Get the difference? :halo:
Or shall we talk about dozens of insurgencies and the ‘players’ involved in them in India?
Re: Balochistan a flashpoint?
Not an issue. We can discuss but in other thread. This is about Balochistan :)

Re: Balochistan a flashpoint?
Ok. Serious reply.
There have been conflicts between the 4 provinces of Pakistan for like forever! Back in the 19th century, Balochistan was especially troubled by the British-Afghan wars and it has been under-represented since then. You can read this article on wikipedia to see that conflicts in Balochistan started right after the formation of Pakistan in 1947 and haven’t really stopped since then.
Despite containing the country’s largest supply of mineral resources, it has been neglected by the government and is under-developed. This is one of the reasons why Balochis feel oppressed, hence the anger. On top of that, there have been various terrorist groups forming in Balochistan (especially after the US invasion of Afghanistan and the political unrest in Pakistan), adding to the violence. The government isn’t doing much to rectify the situation and is accusing India of supporting the terrorist groups in Balochistan.
The Balochis are basically looking for more wealth and resources and peace (they don’t want any millitary presence) in the province but violence isn’t going to get anyone anywhere.
Re: Balochistan a flashpoint?
ironic
Re: Balochistan a flashpoint?
hmmm
Well baloch(leaders) have issue with getting "their" resources used by the whole country.
Thats where trouble started they want royalty for natural-gas which is used by the whole country.
Now problem is
1-they say our resource is getting used but our ppl don't get benefit.
2-panjab supply all most all of the food need for the country. Does it demand some extra cash?
3-Now panjab made amazing progress in industry--would that be possible with out govt. support ???
4- They say why things are not being done for blaochistan??
Now no one on this board can tell if govt. was planning to support one province and not the other. NO one knows.
Its likely they were not. Because its pakistan!!!!!!!! us moron don't plan!!!
we are not india.
So all this situation can be used in any way any one wants.s moron don't plan!!!
we are not india.
So all this situation can be used in any way any one wants.
Re: Balochistan a flashpoint?
Yup basically Balochistan has had internal conflict since the inception of pakistan. It has and continues to be neglected. the reason for outburst and protests by balochi people.
Maybe it is time now that FINALLY and about time the goverment and other provinces start giving balochistan and balochi people its rightful dues..
A lot of industries can be set up there in terms of mineral resources and natural gas and opportunities for people to work and get jobs
Re: Balochistan a flashpoint?
Yes but where in the World are there no flashpoints? Theres even tensions in New Zealand...
Yeah Balochistan is suffereing becuase of ignorance and apathy of Pakistans rulers since the day we gained Independance.
Will things change...? Sure but only whent he powers that be either wake up or are shook up...
Re: Balochistan a flashpoint?
Unfortunately, we have created pretty much the same situation in Balochistan which our ruling elite and Army did in Bangladesh. A lot of hatred for Islamabad and Punjabis exist in Balochistan.
However, despite the injustices dont to Balochis by the federation, the tyrranical role of baloch feudal lords cannot be ignored either. For me, the first step towards balochistan's progress (and as a matter of fact of pakistan's progress) is to literally exterminate all the jageer daars/wadairays from the country.
