the music is wicked
its a balochi traditional dance! its very similar to attan/khattak dance by afghans/pashtuns. i prefer this as it sort of creeps up and it sounds very Iraniain-ish too.
guess they need a lot of energy to do that. see if it showed bhangra dancing we d recognise it. balochis dont get much exposure in pakistan so we dont really know much about their customs. every one knows bhangra and a lot of people know the pashtun khattak/attan .....

Honestly, I havent. I never really knew much about balochi culture, (no balochi friends or "jaanne wale"). So does this dance have a name? Maybe so I could remember it and keep for reference.

there are between 4-10% balochi speakers in pakistan, and a number more who speak brahvi, seraiki, sindi , punjabi, urdu, farsi/dari and pashtu....
i wonder how many pakistanis dont have balochi friends? balochis has its own interesting and unique culture. they are similar to pashtuns in many ways.
il try find out the name! actually i think its called BARAN ...as far as I know that means rain in balochi, persian and pashtu......

nice video. I think this is called do chappi (or do chap). You are right tis very similar to attan of the Pashtuns(Afghans).

^ Bhangra is basically dancing for anyone who doesn't know a real dance! :D
I have seen attan. It is just moving around a fire with a sword (not too much effort). True dances require some effort and practice. Look at classical indian dances for example!

well what do you define as a real dance? i think bhangra is a dance. it mght not be your standard but surely everyone else almost disagrees with you! i have seem some bhangra dancers in clubs and on the media - it surely is a dance.
attan is not moving around a fire with a sword. attan varies from areas to area incorporating twists and turns and ups and downs. whatever you call it , its tiring!
